[Action]

[Haruki is out for a walk around town today. This onto itself is not that strange, of course. But he is walking in tow with his son pet chicken Sekai. Sekai, for those of you who don't see my tons of linked photos looks something like this with about this on his head. He's about the same size as or possibly a little bit larger than an ( Read more... )

[Leon's actually been looking for you, Haruki. He's stubbornly not calling for you over the journals, so it might take longer than usual to actually run into you.]

[Well then, you might catch the boy and his chicken sitting on a bench in the square. Or rather, the boy is sitting. The chicken is eating feed he's throwing in it's rough direction]

[Leon actually passes Sekai first on his way to Haruki, so he sorta ... waves at the chicken before standing in front of Haruki. He's wearing a messenger bag.]

Hey. I've got a small prototype done.

[...Awesome He snaps his fingers and leans in excitedly for the moment-] Oh! Oh?! Let's see it!

[Leon nods, opening up his bag and pulling out what essentially looks like a soda can with odd symbols etched on the outside and a small door on the side. He offers the container to Haruki as he pulls out an identical one.]

Not to scale, of course. Something human-sized will take more materials. This is just to show the theory works.

[...Oh. He inspects this carefully for some time, but not as carefully as he might have under other circumstances. Indeed, he's too excited to see this in action to care all that much about the specifics right now] So it's functional?

[Sorry man. Leon nods again, taking several steps back. He pulls out a wooden block, opening up his container to push it in.]

It's functional. It took awhile to figure out the mass transfer without ruining something in the process.

[He shuts the container and traces the symbols on the outside idly, then closes his eyes to concentrate. The can glows, and soon enough the one that Haruki is holding also glows. The glow seems to transfer from one container to the other, as Leon's loses its glow before the other one does.

If Haruki opens up the can, the block has made it over in one piece.]

[...Oh awesome. He feels the weight gaining in his own as the transfer happens but once it's complete he opens it and takes out the block. He plays with it in his hand for a while and then-] So we're ready to move on to organic testing?

Yeah, organic testing would be the next step, and then a bigger setup. Not sure what I'll do about test subjects, though.

Can't you just use a squirrel or something? [...Hmm. Well they could kidnap Minato's live-in bird, Tori-san...

No he does not seem to see the ethical problems with this]

I guess if the squirrel was okay with it or something... [Leon fiddles with the container he's holding, opening and shutting the little door on it.] I'll also have to figure out a way to make sure both doors stay shut. ...I've found out the hard way that leaving endpoint door open will propel the object out of the transporter.

Well in that case, couldn't you make a secure latch? Or maybe just sealing things? Like an elevator or something. [After all, those sorts of doors are sealed pretty well, right? He ignores the squirrel rights argument entirely for now]
