Even things about unrelated things have mystic properties! Christmas: Santa; Tanabata: Orihime and Hikoboshi. Halloween's got a whole mess of things associated with it. Even that one weird Western holiday in a month or two has a bunny involved with it. Valentines has none of that. It's boring.

To be honest, I've never heard of those festivals. But they do sound more interesting than the run-of-the-mill feast days back home.
