Is that what they are? Western holidays?

It's a holiday for lovers on the fourteenth of February. I dunno the origin but these days in Japan we celebrate it by way of girls giving chocolate to guys they like. Then us males return the favorite on March 14th; White Day.

...oh. The future is so interesting. Is the giving of sweets that rare that it can only happen on that day?

No, no. This is just a particular tradition for the day. [A shrug to himself and then-] I'm pretty sure our [a in Japanese] celebration of it probably falls back to some company that imports cocoa beans deciding they wanted to get rich or something. Probably.

[He's quiet as he considers this.]

Did Haruki-kun get a lot of chocolate? You seem like someone that might.

[A pause and then-] I got a good amount in Middle School I guess. [His tone clearly shows he doesn't care all that much] I mean, not a huge amount, but more than enough.

[...M-mostly because I cannot recall the details of the canon (high school) Valentines chapter well sigh]

That's good. I hope Haruki-kun gets a lot here, too.

Isn't it nice to get sweets though?

They give them to guys they have a thing for, jeez!

But can't friends give them to each other?

Recently, I guess that's becoming more popular, but it's against the spirit of the holiday.

Well, that's too bad. I was hoping to give sweets to my friends that day.
