Being omniscient has it's advantages, not the least of which it gives me an out to go fishing as much as I like and not have to pay complete attention to things occuring around the universe. It also allows me to monitor another pet project.
Quite a long time back I considered the option of holding an election in which mortals could take upon themselves the powers of Me, not quite like Bruce Almighty but close enough. Usually the person in question would be totally unaware of their inner godness but eventually they might notice a few things working in their favor quite often and get a clue. This is often considered to be a streak of good luck by some. However, in this particular case, the streak lasts 8 years.
8 is a good number, turned sideways it becomes the symbol of inifinity. The actual length of a week was supposed to be 8 days but those Romans screwed up the calendar system. Oh well, what is not known doesn't necessarily hurt anyone.
I'm not saying that this system was ever put into effect but wouldn't it be interesting if it had? The last person who potentially could have had it has a rather sour disposition with the occasional happy point. Not that this should be seen as any indication for the way things are happening on the world bevause I didn't acutually go through with it...or did I?
If I had, the new chosen person would be getting theirs in 2004 and I already know who said person would potentially be. Not that I'm saying anything...
