New Year's day was only yesterday....right?

Jan 31, 2009 08:20

Wow, I cannot believe it is already the end of January 2009. I feel like all my days as just running together. I want to post this year's projects (I am refusing to call them resolutions, because I feel that is just asking for failure), but I need to run a few errands before Courtney gets her. We are having girl time and going to get out toesies done (and I seriously need my eyebrows waxed, I look like a muppet).  But I digress, the reason for this post is to start this year's book list. Just like last year, I want to increase my reading by 10% (my ultimate goal being 52 books in a year and making through the list of 1001 books to read before you die - I think I've read 2, but really baby steps are the way to go, right?). With that in mind:

TOTAL FOR 2008 = 37 BOOKS (15033 pgs)

GOAL FOR 2009 = 41 BOOKS (16536 pgs) - hopefully my math is corret on that one.

JANUARY

Total: 6 books (1972 pgs)

A Much Married Man by Nicholas Coleridge (451 pgs)
Stardust by Neil Gaiman (288 pgs)
Certain Girls by Jennifer Weiner (384 pgs)
A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini (415 pgs)
Love, Rosie by Cecelia Ahern (434 pgs)
The Interruption of Everything by Terry McMillan (462 pgs)

The keepers for this month are Certain Girls and A Thousand Splendid Suns. I cried through both of them, and I loved every minute of it!

Random aside - while typing this entry I got a request to chat from someone that said "Hey, Jimmy." I politely responded saying that I was not jimmy. They proceeded to say I was spamming them and to fuck off. Pleasent. I hate people!

More on the shape of 2009 from the Tiffi perspective later. I am off to battle the post office.
