Ok, so I miss the local news a lot. A LOT. Blame it on getting my news online, and relying on my iPod's weather app to check current conditions/forecasts for the day. We watched the weather, on our local Fox station, a couple of days ago--they were calling for a warmup around here and *maybe* some flurries.
Cut to today--my dad just called from an Oklahoma highway, asked if I was ready for the snow.
"What snow?"
"The 4-6 inches southern Davidson County is probably getting tonight."
*?!?!?!?*
"Did you not watch the 12 o'clock weather, Kim?"
"Umm, no. We put Dana down for a nap and Logan's been playing Spiderman." (on the Wii)
"You better make sure you got everything you need, in case Bobby has to stay home with the kids tomorrow."
(Since I work from home, I work regardless of the weather.)
"We were planning on going out, so I'll check our kitchen." (God forbid Logan runs out of milk--he's a banshee if he lacks exactly what he wants to drink.)
In any case, we watched the streaming forecast from the noon airing on Fox 8's website, and we're actually smack on the border between 1-2" and 2-4" accumulations. Then the weathergirl (that's sexist--but "weatherperson" sounds stupid)...wait--METEOROLOGIST--said these figures are the conservative, "pessimistic" model.
Meaning it could go higher. Meaning that must be where my mom got the figures she told my dad about.
I'm torn. I love the snow, but I'll have work and can't play in it with the kids. :P
Note to self: Dana's first snow was only a flurry that started coming down during church yesterday (01/18/09). She didn't get to see any of it, though, even after Jack Jr had the men of the church open the doors during the service so everyone could look outside and see it.
