Is there a "normal" action to take after being robbed? I mean, other than notifying the authorities and our insurance company, that is.
To explain myself--I dwell on things. A LOT. And I'm feeling a whole lot of guilt (shared guilt, but still) over not remembering to lock our car doors. I want so badly to find out who did this to us...and to get back our stuff. Oh, that's a million-to-one long shot, I know, but it feels so...stifling...to sit here and do nothing. I thought, "why not make a flyer, include a picture of the thief's sunglasses, and leave some contact info? We could post them at some of the local stores near our house. Maybe someone knows something and will do the right thing." (Keep in mind, I'd use a disposable cell number and a specially-made email.)
When I asked my husband about it, if he thought it would do any good, he said--essentially--not to bother. He says it'll accomplish nothing.
Is he right? Should I even try, or is it a total waste of my time? Would I be setting us up for some kind of retaliation, or is thinking that being too paranoid?
