Mama?

Oct 27, 2008 23:23

Dana has been trying out talking, which means we're hearing a lot of "bababababa", "mamamamama", and the occasional "dadadada"...until today, I wasn't sure when the "mama" I was hearing would "count"--as in, when is she actually *saying* "mama"?

This evening, Hubby held her towards me, and those little marshmallow-soft arms reached out...and she said "mama"....

...granted, she promptly jumped into a string of sounds right afterward, but--that counts, I think. She was looking at me, reaching for me, and she said the right sound.

I think it counts.

*is thrilled beyond comprehension*

PS--we never experienced this with Logan...he babbled, but we could never be sure what was deliberate and what was just noise, what with the speech delay. Unfortunately, it means we don't actually know when he first started talking, or what his first word was. Sorry, little man. Mommy doesn't know...but I *do* know you are just *darling* with you say "sowwy, momma" every. single. time. you do something you shouldn't.

But you don't need to know right now just how cute it is. ;)
