IMPORTANT THINGS:
1. Vote for EXACTLY three entries. If you vote for more or less, your vote will not be counted. If you need to change your vote due to selecting the wrong number of entries, you can do so
here.
2. If there were any entries submitted by team members which were ultimately not chosen as the team's final submission, have these entries posted publicly to your team community. Please comment here or email us with a link to these submissions. We will be compiling these and posting a list for members to read. At the end of ship wars, we will have an Honourable Mention vote.
An as-yet undetermined number of entries that did not make it into the final rounds will be selected by you to each receive additional points. The number of entries chosen will depend on the number that are submitted for consideration. The Honourable Mention vote will be conducted in much the same way as the standard active rounds, but with a few minor adjustments. Further information on how this will run will be released later on in Ship Wars. However, things you might be worried about! Firstly, if there are a lot of entries from each team, we will not require you to read all of them. We will have a set number, say 2 or 3, which you have to read for each team. You will still be welcome to read more if you wish! Secondly, we realise it is much easier for the larger teams to submit more entries, and they will therefore have a greater chance of winning points. We will definitely take this into account, although we have not yet worked out the mechanism by which we will do so. It will likely involve adjusting the number of points each entry earns, but we are not certain yet. If you have any other concerns, please bring them up with us. We probably haven't thought of it yet, and it is helpful if you mention it to us. Discussions about this are still ongoing.
You have until the end of the bonus round to post your entries to your team communities. It doesn't matter if you hadn't finished them when the official round closed - hell, it doesn't matter if you'd started by then. As long as they are up by the
30th of July, they'll be eligible for an Honourable Mention. Unfortunately, submissions which were entered into the main round but did not win are not eligible (Although we think they are awesome, they've already had their chance to shine. Sorry.) Each individual may submit as many entries as they like for this, as long as each entry fulfills the submission requirements.
3. ROUND FOUR! It seems most people have at least started brainstorming. This is great! For those of you who haven't, now is a good time to start! All it takes is putting up an entry in the comm saying "Round Four Discussion Goes Here!", and people can start tossing around ideas. By the time voting closes, EVERYONE should have started discussions. By the end of the bonus round, you should have some kind of plot and be beginning to assign people roles.
Suggestions
*Try to get everyone involved. Many hands make light work and all those other boring cliches you're so sick of hearing. Guys, if you're sitting there feeling left out or like you can't join in the discussions? Don't. Add your thoughts in. Your team really does want to hear them, trust me!
*
Create a chatroom or have everyone added to each other's IMs, and try to arrange a time for everyone to be online. This might not be possible, but even having a couple of people able to talk in real time can speed the process of discussion up immensely.
*Ah, democracy. When decisions are to be made, polls are your friend. You can sit around saying "Hmm, should we set this pre-lexicon or post-covenant?" 'til the cows come home, but sometimes it's gotta come down to a straight vote.
4. People seem pretty evenly split on whether we should add an extra week to the submission creation time, or leave it how it is. We haven't made a decision yet, but we're going to start taking measures that will allow us to add the extra week should we decide to do so.
Poll 5. In case the second option is the most popular, we're going to open the floor to guesses for the next prompt now. An entry for you to guess in will go up shortly.
6. We now have a
Goblin Market Ship Wars chatroom. It's not really FOR anything, just. You know. Chill, hang out, whatever. Password is "otpislove".
