Going along with my procrastination-oriented nature, I've been putting off a major update as to How I've Been Doing in Korea. While I'm sure people have questions, I'll go over the major events of this week in the hopes that it'll get me in the habit of posting.

On Tuesday, America was celebrating Veteran's Day. Here, we were celebrating a holiday that the children call "Pepero Day." Pepero is the Korean equivalent to Japanese Pocky. For those not familiar with Asian culture, Pocky/Pepero is a chocolate covered graham cracker stick presumably laced with crack. Pepero Day (I never learned the real name) is basically a corporate sponsored version of Valentine's Day in the same vein that Hallmark banks off of Sweetest Day. Needless to say, I received quite a bit of Pepero from my students on Tuesday, and I happily chose not to think too much of it.

Also on Tuesday, I went with a friend to see Quantum of Solace. So yes, they do show English movies in Korean cinemas. The only hitch was that the only subtitles were in Korean, so I wasn't able to completely make out the scenes in French, Spanish, and Italian where there would normally be English subtitles. Other than that, I thought the movie was decent, although short, as a action-oriented Bond movie, but it wasn't as good as Casino Royale.

Hopefully, I'll be more dutiful on the LJ front. I am alive (as some of you have asked), and doing well. I hope to gradually keep you all updated.
