I rode the train this morning up to Chicago for my interview with the Korean consulate. In interview lasted all of five minutes ("So you have an English degree? You have teaching experience? What will you do after you teach in Korea? Ok, we're done.")
Since I had made the trouble to make the trip to the city, I decided to spend the rest of the day wandering around. I finally got a chance to see Millennium Park, big metal bean and all, and made my way south through the Chicago Jazz Festival and Buckingham Fountain.
On a whim, I went to the Field Museum, and I'm glad I did. They had an exhibit (ending Monday) which centered around mythical creatures: their roots in folklore, influence in art and society, connections to paleontology, and biological features. I have a feeling that, with three weeks of weekdays to kill, I might be spending more days in this manner.
Well, I have a wedding to go to tomorrow, and we'll see how the rest of the weekend shapes up.
