Granted, today wasn't all that bad. I just didn't want to break up the homage to one of my favorite childhood books.
I ended up buying a really good pair of New Balance walking shoes on sale. They're really comfortable, and will definitely hold up during my year in Korea (which, as Kerry warned me, has a severe shortage in size 11 shoes).
I got to ride the El for the first time today, and I rather enjoyed it. Plus, the experience helped me prepare for my inevitable use of mass transit in Pusan.
Having spent most of the day in Chicago, I can definitely see myself living here at some point. Should I want to pursue teaching ESL after this year, I will definitely put DePaul on my list of grad schools since they have a strong program in multicultural studies.
Plus, I got to spend some time hanging out with my friends Tom and Liz, the latter I see very little since she's busy with her biochemistry classes before she starts med school in the fall.
Though, it is now closing in on 4 in the morning, and I'm still wide awake. Stupid lazy summer sleep schedule....
