the most wonderful time of the year

I have four types of pumpkin ale in my fridge.

Sadly, none of it is Boston Beer Works' Pumpkinhead...

Oh, and, any locals interested in Elysian Brewing's pumpkin beer fest this Saturday?

I just found one I hadn't tried before, myself: Shipyard's Pumpkinhead. I like it, though it's sweeter than some, and definitely pumpkin pie like.

I had it this evening with a pumpkin-centric vegetable pot pie that I made. Yay for Autumn!

I have not been to Beerworks to sample this years' ale. I'm sure it's totally gone downhill and that you're not missing thing. :p

Yeah, the Punkin Ale is one of my favorite two, the other being Blue Moon's pumpkin ale.

Have you had the Chateau Jiahu? I saw it for the first time today, and almost picked it up on impulse, but figured I'd read up on it first.

One of the beers here at the Elysian this weekend is called the Great Pumpkin, so I'm hoping it's (somehow) the Cambridge BC's ale. I had it a couple of times, and, yes, it was yum.

Bleh, Shipyard -- to me, that stuff tastes like pumpkin Kool-Aid without sugar added. You haven't had it before? I thought I remembered you drinking some... maybe some that I had at my house and didn't like :)

You'll have to let me know how Beerworks' rates this year *sniff*
