Something disturbs me about Obama:

Obama's Abortion Extremism
By Michael Gerson
---
But Obama's record on abortion is extreme. He opposed the ban on partial-birth abortion -- a practice a fellow Democrat, the late Daniel Patrick Moynihan, once called "too close to infanticide." Obama strongly criticized the Supreme Court decision upholding the partial-birth ban. In the Illinois state Senate, he opposed a bill similar to the Born Alive Infant Protection Act, which prevents the killing of infants mistakenly left alive by abortion. And now Obama has oddly claimed he would not want his daughters to be "punished with a baby" because of a crisis pregnancy -- hardly a welcoming attitude toward new life."

I have not independently verified Gerson's article, so I write this on the unproven premise that it is true. I am a card carrying member of the Libertarian party, except as Libertarians we would never carry cards and if there were a party, we would never attend. I think if there is anything special or metaphysical about being human it must attach at conception, but the government still has no right telling a woman what she must do with her own body. I think that extends to expelling a fetus whenever she chooses. But, if born alive in any fashion, the fetus is a baby, a person, with the same rights as the Mother. How could Obama support the murder of babies? I suspect he doesn't, but opposed the bill for political expediency.

As I said, something disturbs me about Obama.
