Party Time

Well, Yesterday was good fun.  I went to Carla and Julia's birthday shindig.  We played soul-cal at Golf'n Stuff, I busted out some summon suffering on some unexpected people...and because the games AI was produced before the home console version was, it doesn't see SS coming.  The problem I have is that the Arcade controls suck for me, whatever.  I also played some 1945 with Zacharia, that was fun.  If you've never played one of those excessively unforgiving air shooters, you have to give them a try.  They really work you hard, Zach was amazed at how easily I dodged every incoming bullet, and knew just when to use my special attacks (Any single bullet hitting you ends you, and there can literally be a hundred on the screen going in different directions...sometimes the only way to escape is by using your special to call support in, they absorb fire for a short period of time.)  Matt played Dance Dance Revolution, he's pretty good, not one of those insane players though.  I was very pleased to see some of the old gaming traditions still in place at the arcade, the quarter on the machine to signify a reserved play, the mobs that grew around intense games of Soul Calibur or Dance Dance Revolution.

My next journal entry will be about arcades.

Anywho, the rest of the party was good.  We went to Julia's house (I got sooooooo lost on the way)  Zach and Matt had a piano battle, it was very close...I personally wouldn't be able to declare a winner.  Matt and Michael played Yu-gi-oh!  Which is very similar to Magic in strategies at times.  We all watched Scary Movie 3, which had a scene where a guy was thrown out a window and landed on his head, we all turned and looked at Zach.

Watching movies with Zach is entertaining, because he makes such obvious comments.

Anywho, that was it for the party...I'll prolly post again later, a long thing on video gaming.  Don't bother reading it if you lack interest in the subject.
