For those who don't know I am attempting to learn the sport of kayak polo. Last quarter I took the beginner class and this quarter I am taking the beginner again and possibly the intermediate/advanced class. Today was the first practice of the the more difficult class and my first glimps of what the real pace and difficulty of the sport is. My problem...I suck. It is kind of a relative thing, the other 7 players have been playing for a minimum of three years apiece and I think all of them have competed at the nationals as a team the last few years. They aren't just good, they are some of the best nationally, and well I suck. I am welcome to stay but I question whether holding others back is fair. I think about snowboarding, being on the other end of someone learning a new sport and how I am always happy to see that. But I have seen other people get frustrated with the fact that they slow me down and well now I am there. I want to improve and undoubtably the best way to do that is to push myself, but I hate not having the stamina to paddle hard for 2 hours, getting pity points, or throwing way off. meh
