Some more recs of two fics I read recently and loved!
I recently read Duties of the Hostess ( Part 2) by wotcher-wombat. It's an excellent story that has many of my favorite elements in it. Socially adept characters, the Black family, different eras from the HP universe, etc. The main character is Dorea Black Potter, who can be found on the Black family tree, married to Charlus Potter, and it's set at a party she is hosting, for the first time in years.
The prose is elegant, the characters are fully fleshed out, and the pacing is brilliant. I highly recommend it.
Also, by the same author is Scenes from the Hog's Head ( Part 2) which has equally excellent pacing and characterization. It helps that it stars some of my favorite characters: Sirius Black and the Dumbledore brothers. All three of them are very much as I see them from canon, and Aberforth in particular is extrapolated from his few appearances perfectly.
