Rants from the Human Muppet
Had a pretty wild week last week...It was quite the roller coaster.
Had a mini blow-up to start the week, decided to try to iron all my shirts for the week and thought I ruined the first one I did. So I got mad and pouted for a while. But I am learning how to control my anger so I took stock in why I was mad and then had a good laugh about it. Work started out bad, got a bunch of complaints about performance on my system. Did some checks and had to run some database routines.
Got to spend the rest of the week stopping by customers desks' to ask them how it was running. I am back to the world of Actual performance issues and Perception of a non-existent problem.
The out of no-where my boss calls me into his off and tells me how well I am doing, how well my upgrade went back in November( Did not think he really noticed at first), and says he would like to offer me a raise!!! I was pleasantly shocked. They he said it was a 10% salary increase! I was blown away.
Then of course we think we know what the problem is with my system, we need to re-create all the indexes on my SQL Table. Which of course cannot be done when users are on-line, so I had to work Friday Night to get that done.
That sucked because I was really looking forward to going to Bunker and seeing all my friends, J got to go and said it was packed but everyone was there. I really missed you guys!
Did the Super Bowl party thing with the family, they all were in good spirits. My middle brother and his wife are pregs again, due on J's birthday! But they had their DR visit on Friday and said they will be doing a C-Section the week before so J does not have to share her B-Day. Also my baby brother is engaged, so there will be another wedding at the end of the year.
