I have to admit that when I first signed up for
Twitter, I didn't think I would stick with it. With most web-based services, I'll try it for a few days or even a week or two, then it will just fade out of my short-term memory. It's not that I consciously stop using a service, more often it'll just slip out of my daily online-routine, and will pass out of thought.
I've known about Twitter for quite some time now, but the idea never really appealed to me enough to get me to try it. Once I did, however, it quickly rooted itself into my web life.
I've found it's much easier than blogging. It's quicker, and I don't have to worry about trying to remember everything that happened over the last few days. I can use it to quickly share links and pictures, and whatever else. All-in-all, tweeting seems to facilitate my way of thinking better than more traditional blogging, I guess. And being able to do it via iPhone makes it so much easier and accessible than blogging.
My sister is on Twitter, even, and although she doesn't update as nearly as often as I do (often half a dozen times a day) she does post several times a week. I feel like I'm more connected to her than when she would just called every other week or so and tell me about the bigger things that have been going on. It's a much more personal way to keep in touch with people that you otherwise wouldn't have regular contact with.
So... *hint**hint*
