Saturday was kind of a lazy day. We took the girls to the "carnival" that was in the West Towne Mall parking lot. I would have preferred to avoid it altogether, but Willow voiced her deep desire to go since she first saw the huge ferris wheel from the Beltline. So we went, and there were only a few rides that Willow could go on. Ari's still too little, nor does she care.
The first ride Willow went on was this obstacle course kind-of-thing. She got scared of the rope ladder, so she came back out. $2 well spent. Then she went on the carousel and the giant slide with Lindsey, followed by a fishing expedition in a kiddie-pool filled with blue-stained water. Another $2 for that, and Willow walked away with a green rubber bracelet that says COURAGE. Ari got one too, even though it's twice the diameter of her wrist. A bag of cotton candy later, and we were ready to go. I don't particularly like these carnival things, except to people-watch, but Willow enjoys them, so....
Later on, we went to see Lindsey's friend Lara's new house, and went to eat at Red Robin. I forgot my sunglasses at her house, so I've been driving blind all day today.
Sunday I made Lindsey breakfast in bed - reheated pancakes and ham from Sat. morning and canned pears - then we got ready to go down to my mom's. We had burgers and dogs, bunch of sides, etc. And for dessert, we had ice cream cake (with crunchies in the middle!!) to celebrate my birthday. It was a fun, relaxing weekend.
Tomorrow night I get to make snickerdoodles and M&M cookies to bring in to work! ...As long as I don't eat them all.
goings-on,
