So Jeff finally emailed me on Saturday. He said he saw that I had signed up for an event with Single and the City and he wouldn't mind going to that. Yes, I had signed up but it wasn't just a singles event. If Jeff had actually wanted to do something, I would have skipped it. And do you ask someone on a date to an event you think is a singles event? But I gave him the benefit of the doubt because he saw that I had signed up for it so maybe he was trying to go along with that. Dinner was o.k. but he didn't seem interested in getting to know me at all. Just more talk about planes. It felt a bit odd. We also went to the event at Moya, and while it was nice to see Bob and Alayna, it was so loud I could hardly stand it.

The next day I emailed Jeff with some info about movies we'd talked about and he offered to burn any that I wanted for me since he has a DVD burner. So far, that's the last I've heard from him. I think he may have thought I was making fun of him because while we were out at dinner I had been looking at the music on his iPhone and when I saw Genesis and Chicago I laughed and told him I couldn't stand either of them. I don't think someone's taste in music is important in the grand scheme of things. To me it's pretty unimportant, but I think people often have a hard time telling when I'm teasing, even if I am smiling about it.

The politics could have frightened him off too. I talked about it slightly at dinner, but then Bob, William, Alayna, and I were talking about it quite a bit at Moya. I didn't get the feeling Jeff is conservative, but now he probably thinks we are ultra-liberal freaks. Which is absolutely true. Except for the freaks part.

Instead of having dinner with Jeff I could have been at the roller derby with Kim and Renee, but I guess it's good that I know where things are going with him now. Nowhere, ha ha. But it is kind of a shame considering he's the first person I've even been remotely attracted to in two years. It probably will be another two years before I'm attracted to anyone else. And then, of course, it will be another person is totally wrong for me and/or is a total jerk. Because that seems to be all the men I've ever been attracted to.

I was talking to Kim the other day and I told her I often wondered if it would have been easier if I were a lesbian because I know how women think. But then I said that it probably would be harder because I'd have to deal with all the drama and head games. Not that that doesn't happen with men also, but women are much better at it. "No," she said, "it's *much* easier."

Which makes me wonder, who else is coming out this week besides Clay Aiken and Lindsay Lohan? Why didn't they wait until National Coming Out Day on October 11? Clay Aiken...I never would have guessed... ;-)
