FOURTHREESTORIES.
1. Pick four three unfinished stories, fandom or original.
2. Post the title and summary of each, along with four lines or four paragraphs of the story.
3. Let the commenters vote on which one you should finish.
4. If you like it, pass it on.
God knows I have a million other things to finish. XD
1. SAMURAI CHAMPLOO: Mugen/Fuu/Jin. Cyber-punk AU.
“How are your jobs working out?”
“Same as your stars are darkenin’, man. Slowly, but surely.” Mugen laughs, pulling down a corner of his hat as he says so, but his words sound serious, and though Jin and Fuu will never admit it, chills run up their spines at the imagery implied. Fuu curses her body’s pathetic attempts at humanity, as if clever circuitry can give her a soul.
“Ah, good,” is the response, voice sinking into the background, fading in and out of existence, like the volume in a film you’ve watched time and time again. They then walk their separate ways, and Mugen leads the trio further through the Valley.
It’s true; the stars aren’t like they once were, bright beacons in the skies. There are legends that mothers whisper into the half-silence that follows a child’ bedtime viddy, that once humans could see the stars as more than little white smudges in the sky. No one really believes those things, though, except for the tiny boys and girls that believe they can fly.
2. NARUTO: Choji/Sasuke. omgyaoi.
Sasuke returned. It was an event worthy of fanfare, the usual bra-rah-pumpum of an affair. Choji and two younger genins were out-unimportant details. Choji just wasn’t there, an absence that Sasuke noticed without admitting to himself that he had. There wasn’t exactly time to stop for a cup of tea and ask what had happened since he’d been gone.
Just death, tears and rebirth, Sasuke. As per usual.
Sasuke was passed down from hand to hand, rotisserie fit for a queen, or a Godaime. He’d failed the health inspection and had been found to be poisonous upon contact, so maybe he was fit for the incinerator instead. A traitor, a missing-nin now found wandering back. Everyone comes wandering back to the place their mothers popped them out from.
Sasuke looked at Tsunade with serious eyes. Those obsidian black pits gazed at her and did not ask for forgiveness. He did not ask for acceptance. He did not ask for punishment.
3. BLEACH: Yuzu/Karin/Jinta. future-fic.
I leave the bathroom, purse gently bouncing against my arm. I don’t recognize them at first. I mean, Karin’s hair is short, and spiked like a boy’s. Jinta’s grown, and he’s wearing a long black trench coat. Karin’s hand is slipped into the sleeve of his coat, and while I can’t really make out their intertwined fingers, I can imagine it.
“Karin! Jinta!” I call out, raising my hand to wave them in my direction.
Jinta’s eyes look darker, redder. I can tell what he’s become, but I don’t want to voice it or admit it, even to myself. Karin breaks away from him, jogging over and wrapping her arms around me. “How was the flight?” she asked, the words muffled as she buried her face in the cleft of my shoulder. She’s warm, warmer than I remember her. I always associated her with cold, honestly, and it was always an icy touch that I associated with her. When I felt especially lonely, I’d take ice and rub it against my stomach, pretending it was her hand.
“Alright, I guess. The food was awful.” I’d been practicing my Japanese for a few weeks, afraid that I’d come back home and speak like a foreigner. We broke apart, and I thought Karin would call Jinta over now that she’d had her turn. Her turn wasn’t completely over with, apparently, and she grabbed my shoulders with her thin fingers. Her lips were cold, and I was glad that my memory hadn’t failed me completely. I pressed against her, hungry for that familiar taste after being without for so long.
