Maeve had recently received the offer to move to Paris and spent many a spare moment as her daughter slept thinking it over. It showed in the obvious lack of sleep, although she was still vaguely put together in simple jeans and vest top as she pushed the pushchair along the street.

Lily was going through the cause and effect stage and for what seemed like the milionth time since they had left the house she kicked her toy dragon through the gap at the bottom and onto the footplate, this time with a shreik of glee, causing Maeve to stop and save the toy before it could fall on the floor. She was entirely too caught up to notice anyone around her except her daughter as she popped the head of the dragon over the edge and up Lily's body to make her giggle.

He would honestly know that giggle anywhere - even if he didn't, hearing a baby so close to him would make him look over his shoulder. This time he glanced in search of his daughter, and grinned once he found her and Maeve.

"You two are probably my favorite kind of surprise," he said lightly, getting off the bench and walking over to them.

ooc: I LOVE YOU!

Maeve turned her head as she heard the familiar voice and smiled lightly. "Oh is that so? I knew I was good for something" She joked. She undid the straps on the pushchair and picked Lily up, she knew there was no way the little girl would be happy to stay in there now she could see her daddy. Maeve also picked up the dragon although she knew Daddy was a better toy than Danny the Dragon according to Lil.

He kissed Maeve's forehead before taking Lily out of her arms and into his own. "Hello, my lovely," he said to Lily as she started her own bouncing in his arms.

Out of the corner of his eye he could notice older couples flashing the young parents concerned looks. It was the only time Miles actually felt his age - not even 19 until August.

"And what have you two been up to, hm?"

Being the one who spent all day every day with Lily and hated being in the house, Maeve was used to the looks she got when she went out with their daughter, but there had been a few surprising very supportive people she had met from it too.

She pulled a face at him kissing her forehead. "We were just shopping.... my dad sent some money, he still is not going to get anywhere near Lily though." She explained. She had to admit when she watched Miles being so great a dad she felt guilty about even considering leaving but...a fresh start was tempting and being with Miles whilst not being with him was getting harder and harder as time went on. She knew wanting to leave was selfish.

Miles saw the guilty look pass through her eyes, but he only connected it to her thinking about her father.

"Once I start up at St. Mungo's, you won't even have to take his money any more," he promised her for the hundreth time. "I'll support you and Lily without his charity."

"We can survive now. You really don't need to worry so much. You're young, spend your money on going out and enjoying yourself rather than stressing over supporting us." She smiled at him and then to their daughter as she gripped her mother's finger. "If my stupid father wants to try and bribe me with money then it's his loss and our gain"

He was still young, maybe if she left he could be a young healer intern properly and have fun instead of having to be a father and worry about Maeve and Lily.

"You're the same age as me - just a few months older," he pointed out. She sounded like she was middle-aged and had no future. "Anything you go through, I'll be right at your side. Besides, I am enjoying myself - you forget that I've wanted to be a father since I was ten years old. Nothing makes me happier than having Lily and you."

She smiled serenely at him and kissed his cheek. "I know.... but I doubt that you planned on it being at such a young age. I am glad you're here though, you're one hell of a dad" She knew it was true but still....

"What were you doing before we turned up anyway? Enjoying your freedom before St Mungos starts? Meeting someone?" As she spoke she was looking at Lily and playing with the baby's hands, kissing her when she finished the questions.

"Absolutely nothing," he admitted. "Lilia and Austin are off visiting friends from Hogwarts. Tracey is out of the country. So I've taken up the habit of sitting around idly."

"Sitting around idly? That can be a dangerous pastime, it will drive you mad... well madder." She teased him, nudging with her shoulder. "What about your mum? Why aren't you sitting around idly at the house? Surely she must love you being home."

Lily started to grumble and Maeve babbled in babytalk to her to try and distract her, softly of course.

"You're calling me mad?" he raised an eyebrow and lifted Lily so that the baby was looking at him. "You hear that? Your mum just called me mad as she bumbles like an idiot to you."

Lily just giggled.

"And I'll have you know," he went on to answer Maeve, "that my mother was the one who forced me to get out of the house - said I sleep too late and don't get enough fresh air."

"Sweetie, I spend almost all day every day alone with a baby who can't even talk yet... of course I'm mad." She stated simply, rolling her eyes and smiling. "Adult interaction is a rare treat"

"Maia probably has a point I guess. You do spend a lot of time in bed" Maeve giggled.

"You've never really complained about me in bed before," he smirked.

"Not when I was in it too, although we definitely weren't sleeping the whole time" Maeve's smile took on a slightly naughty touch.

"Obviously" She added with a nod to indicate Lily. "Wait a sec... nope that wasn't a bed... "

"Oh the memories," he laughed lighty, looking at his daughter. "You know, Lil, your mum is a kinky one. Not that I'm complaining."

One day he would have to realize that he wouldn't always be able to talk like that in front of his daughter...
