*blushes madly* Thanks again!

I was actually having this conversation with a friend the other day. In my stories, Crowley tends to rise to the occasion in emergencies after panicking a bit first. In hers, he tends to not deal with them well at all (though she's much better at writing his snarky dialogue. ;)

I find it fascinating that the book supports both of these interpretations. Like when Hastur is after him, the first thing Crowley does is go to Aziraphale's shop to get help for himself. But when he finds it on fire he freaks out a bit and then starts looking for Aziraphale. Or when Satan is about to show up, his first thought is to run, but Aziraphale convinces him to stay. So it seems that his pattern is selfishness first, then selflessness, but only if Aziraphale is involved.

He's such a complex character and like you said, wonderfully human. I just don't want to fall into the trap of making him too human, because his obnoxious, demonic traits are quite honestly most of his appeal. I mean, who doesn't want to be an unrepentant bastard sometimes? :D
