Wow, it's... wonderful - their developing relationship is wonderfully portrayed here - it perfectly flows to this last scene ♥

I love how Crowley needs reminding that they're supposed to be enemies before he'll sneak up and bite Aziraphale. And I adore the symmetry later when he poisons him and stuffs him in the closet. And all the little instances of book-protection that Crowley denies~~

OMG Aziraphale wore a black band mourning Sherlock Holmes!!! That is the most perfect detail ever. Yes. Of course he did.

This is awesome! Thank you so much. ♥ ♥

Here speaketh the author under the guise of a kracken.

I'm glad you liked it! ^^ I was pretty anxious about it because I ended up writing it after a somewhat extended period of *not* doing fic, so I'm very relieved it satisfied you. ^^ And yes, the black band headcanon is one of my favourites, though I'm afraid I can't take credit for the idea - I saw it on goodomensheadcanons.tumblr.com once. But Crowley helping to bribe ACD into writing the continuation *is* mine. ^^

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on it, and Happy New Year's!

Oh, where to start... you destilled so much history and feeling into this short story and it totally works. The end feels like canon and fanon melting perfectly into each other.
I especially enjoyed Crowley being... Crowley. At first that silly but foreshadowing little trick in the Garden and then how he goes on to save books and animals and how he bites that woman... that's so him <3

Hehe. I, for one, am entirely convinced that it's not fanon so much as stuff interpreted into the canon here. The ending, at least - the grammatical structure of Azi's 'spark of goodness' line does make it sound like he's talking about himself.

Thank you so much for the lovely review, and I'm glad you enjoyed it. ^^
