I love it! I started making happy noises of glee as soon as I saw the header and basically continued throughout the entire story. That was absolutely what I was hoping for and more. Particular highlights...the opening in general with "the personality of fonts" and "I'll finish the story later...you never do" and the discomfort over the corruption charges.
"You figured out the witness was lying," Crowley said. Once again, Aziraphale couldn't guess at his tone. - Awww...
The poor books! Oh, I am right there with Aziraphale. I approve of their investigation and interactions with the other officers. Heheh, Thatcher.
Cartwright interrupted him halfway through his first question. "Are all you London sergeants bloody queens then?" he demanded. "Sergeant Arse-wipe and Sergeant Arse-Bandit."
Aziraphale paused mid-word and stared. "Excuse me?"
"Queens," Wainwright echoed, and giggled. "Maybe that's how they pass their exams, Andy. Take a final one on being gayer than a tree full of monkeys." - Yeah. Totally in character there.
Danny is a dear. ^_^ And oh, when Aziraphale and Crowley finally catch on to him and Nicholas. Hee.
Ooh and then the supernatural stuff and Adam the vigilante and the denouement... Awesome. Very awesome!
I am so very, very glad you enjoyed it! And thank you for the amazing prompt. As soon as I saw the Good Omens/Hot Fuzz idea, the entire plot of this sprang fully formed into my head (no, really), and I had you as my first choice for my recipient.
And it's good to know the character interactions worked for you. Both fandoms have such specific voices, so I was trying hard to capture all the characters. Especially Thatcher, who may have been my surprise favorite in the story. I cracked myself up writing her dialogue.
Once again, I am so glad you enjoyed this! It was tremendous fun to write. :)
