It's one of those quiet days in the workshop. You know, when nobody's throwing anything and nobody's popping in to ogle our work. The thermophile bacteria are growing happily in the petri dishes on my half of the workbench, coloured all sorts of hues depending on the growth medium in which they were started.
That's when I hear a strange grinding noise. Almost like one of the others forgot how to change gears or something. It's coming from outside the large door in this room.
I leave my chair and throw open the door, wondering just what the heck is going on.
And there's Jeimu.
She's carrying one of
these.
No, I don't want to know where she got it. Nor do I want to know what she plans to do with it.
She grins widely as I just stare at her.
"What is that?" I sigh.
"A nuclear magnetic resonance spec-"
"Yes, I know what it is. What I want to know is why is it here?"
She doesn't answer me. She just grins and uses her crazy mind power to set the thing up in the far corner of the workshop.
Now would be a really bad time for Ratchet to come back.
