[Well, Goose is conveniently at this bar, as well. He is popping in for a glass of Southern Comfort sweet tea before heading back home. Maybe that... wouldn't pose well for flying in his gyrocopter, but at least he made bar trips in his Birdman wings now. That was less dangerous, right?]
[Bill raised his glass in a drunken declaration of, uh, friendship.]
He was my BEST bud, man! We... we were like this. [Crosses his fingers.] And his dad was most righteous.
[Chug chug depressed thoughts chug.]
Then... I dunno, dude. After his dad died, we sorta drifted apart. It was lame. But I came here to make amends! And then he goes and ditches me again! Most EPICLY lame, I say!
Well, damn. Sounds like the suckiest thing, if anything. Maybe he's just all down in the dumps or somethin', but hell if I know. I kinda bounced back after my dad died.
[He... isn't going to admit that it took him a little while.]
Think he'll ever be back? He had a pretty sweet Arwing, I'll give the kid that.
Your dad was a douchebag, too? Bet he ain't as bad as mine was. [Goose's father sure shoved piloting onto him. While Goose loved piloting to bits without his father's influence, his father sure was... nasty about it. But I digress.]
Eh, maybe he will. He's got pals here. He oughta at least visit of something.
I'd love take you up on that bet, dude. [Bill's dad ran out on his entire family when he was young and never gave him a scrap of attention or encouragement, hence his latching onto Fox's dad like a ... uh.. puppy...]
[Chug. Chug chug.]
I hope so! I don't even know if he knew I was, like, here and stuff. Falco and Slippy ought to be reason enough to come back, though. At least one can hope.
[Goose sips on his tea through a bright blue straw. (Seeing as he's been here many a time, at least the bartender knew what color straw he liked.) He then raises an eyebrow at the mention of Falco and Slippy. Wait... he knew those two, and he knew that they were Arwing pilots, too.]
Wait, Fox knows 'em? Hell, I knew they had the same stuff he's got, but...
Of course, man! They were all on the same StarFox team together. Saved the galaxy a few times over (with my help, of course). Not -this- galaxy, but Lylat and stuff.
Where you been, man? They were a tight team! At least they were in the past! Have things, uh... majorly deteriorated or somethin'?
Really, huh? A whole galaxy? Here I thought just saving a continent was a hell of a feat. [Well, probably more like a continent and its three surrounding islands, but still.]
Though I ain't ever seen 'em interact. Might be why I didn't know.
[Pshaw, continent. You wuss. ...But Bill can't talk cuz all he did was defend a couple of planets.]
[Bill made a weird wishy-washy hand gesture at Goose, indicating his view on Fox's personality more physically.]
Fox, dude... he's not the most outgoing guy, I get it. [He rubbed his chin in deep thought.] But to not have him interact with his buds, Slippy and Falco... That's just weird, man. Was he trippin' on somethin' the whole time or what?
I dunno, but he seemed like a kinda average kid to me. Prattled about that Arwing of his. Though it ain't like I minded or nothing like that.
[He sipped from his tea and rested an elbow on the counter.] Maybe I just never saw him interactin' with them, but they were the whole time. Hell if I know. I'm a security guard, but I guess I can't see everything.
Heeeeeey. What are you drinkin'?

Yo, man. S'up? Got myself a Sam Adams! How about you?

[He grins and tilts his head.] So... you knew Fox, too, huh? He's your buddy?

[Another depressed sigh, followed by another chug and an order for another Sam Adams.]
Oh yeah? My dad was a total douchebag. Fox's dad was like my surrogate dad or somethin'. He got me interested in flight school. Or somethin'.
[Bill took a moment to rub his temples.]
Will he be back? I dunno, man. Fox has become more flighty in recent years. Dunno why. Keep trying to find out and he ditches me. Lame, I say.
But I, like, hope so.
