On Vox: Sad News out of San Francisco

One of my Castro based Live Journal friends posted up that Welcome Home closed after a 30 year run on Castro Street.

This makes me very sad.

I made a point to have at least one meal there when I visited town. The service and portions were always great.

I'll miss it.

Can someone get some pictures and post up so we have them before it goes away for good

Now I feel bad for all the times that Z suggested we brunch there, and I said no. I swear that it was only ever because their breakfast portions were so large. They made a mean BLT with A, though. now I'm craving one. I hope they're not closed yet, so I can at least visit once more.

could be. BTW. Z and I were just talking, was it you that told us about Klien's closing down? It seems that I get most of my important SF info from you, but I'm not sure about that one.

No, I wasn't aware Klein's was closing. I recall you taking me there and having a great time on a beautiful day.

I actually got the info about Welcome Home from champsf in his lj yesterday. All of my other data comes from CastroShopper from Vox and also onthecastro.com.

well, Klien's already closed, quite some time ago. The one in the airport is still open, but the main location shut down. I guess the info came from somewhere else...but now that you know, you'll make sure to get a sanwich in the airport. :)

The Klein's in the airport is in Terminal E, near Gate 64. Guess I need to make a stop when I get into town.
