Be careful, this one accelerates without warning!

Today, I woke bright and reasonably early (by my standards) to catch England v. Paraguay. You know, I don't really go for sports in the regular season, but there's something very alluring about the global aspect. Maybe it's the camaraderie, maybe it's the competition. There's spirit in it. National pride! Potentially lofty goals! Metaphor relating friendly competition and world peace!

Or it could just be fun to watch a little white thing bounce back and forth on a dark background.... It's like Pong--with people.

Unless, of course, it's like today's first match, which was really more reminiscent of volleyball than anything else. That own-goal was pretty amusing though!

Trinidad and Tabago, however, are doing fantastically! They play well as a team and I do think I rather like that.

On the cooking front, I've done a bit of fusion cooking! I've mixed the two hallowed schools of boiling and packaged meal. Sure it was ramen, but I put in fresh green onions, a few (tiny) potatoes, and an egg. That's pretty advanced for me, really.

Still waiting for DHL to deliver my empty box. I called them last night, and they've said it'll be redelivered Monday morning. Whee!

And with that, I think I'll read some more Tsuki no kage, Kage no umi, as I've finally made it to page 22 (or thereabouts). Maybe some more Dracula after that, eh?
