~*Magical*~ abilities and strengths: MARKSMANSHIP: If there's one thing about this girl that will absolutely stun you (especially coming from a thirteen year old) it's the excellent mark she holds in marksmanship. There is no denying she has a very good shot and eye that allows her to wield her rifle in an impressive manner. When you consider whose care she's under it's no surprise, with a space wielding canine friend and her Granddad who wield a pair of pistols of course her shooting is going to be impressive!
SPACE: Being the Witch of Space there is no doubt Jade has some length of space powers she's able to do as seen with John using the windy thing (even before he became God Tier) and Dave with time travel. However, it's not exactly explained nor shown just what she is able to do exactly. Not until later when she ascends tier.
SYLLADEX: Now this isn't exactly a kind of ability, rather it's something everyone in Homestuck has and that's the Strife deck and sylladex. Sylladex are modeled with the person's own choice, Jade mostly using the Pictionary model amongst others. A sylladex has a certain amount of cards that can hold any item, but at a limit of course. Depending on how much room you have though you can carry a lot! Strife decks are for weapons where you set one upon one of the cards, Jade's being mostly Riflekind but even Paperkind.
How would they use their abilities?: For the greater good!! Jade will only use her abilities to protect herself, her friends and anyone in danger. Never for anything bad. Not to mention she IS a pacifist.
Appearance: Jade Harley is a young thirteen-year-old girl, who is shown to be quite thin and lanky! It's not told how exactly tall she is, but given her age she's probably around average height IF not a little taller what with her body build. Likely around the height of her other three friends, if not the same possibly slightly taller or shorter depending on who. She appears petite but as mentioned quite skinny with long black hair, round circular glasses and green eyes.
Her regular outfit consists of this with a wardrobe function that can randomize the logo on the shirt. She also wears some unusual gowns and dresses too. At least they have a certain charm and beauty to them. Currently she wears her 3AM gown though, she sure has a way of being dressed there is no denying that! She also has an obvious slight overbite but the bucktooth smile can be quite cute don't you think?
Background/Personality:

Unlike most kids, Jade's life started off weird even before she was born. While everyone is usually known to be taken into care by their parents soon after birth, it would seem that along with Jade and her guardian (as well as the other three kids and their own caretaker) were created through the science of ectobiology. Typical green slime which took genes to clone and soon make the siblings and their guardians. For example; Jade and John are siblings with Jade's adopted Grandfather being their Dad and John's adopted Grandmother being their Mom. Already it can be easily confusing! Of course this is not known to the kids until later in the future which we will come to talk about soon enough. So instead of being given birth in a hospital by her mother, she arrives on a shooting meteor that hits the Earth. It was then her Granddad found her (who is genetically her father, what was the coincidence!) and was taken into his care. Along with her Granddad is Becquerel who is a canine companion with the abilities of a First Guardian that allows him to bend space at will to his choice. Bec is actually extremely loyal to Jade and will do just about anything to save her life. So when there was an incident when she younger that involved her almost shooting herself, it ended up leading to her Granddad's death instead after Bec used his abilities to turn the shot on Granddad instead of Jade. This leads to Jade growing up under Bec's careful and watchful eye, fortunately she still kept in contact with her Granddad one way or another which isn't exactly explained but it could be she talked to him with her dream self. "Dream self" you may be asking now? You see as Jade was growing up she had a lot of trouble sleeping, that was until she started to gain a rather narcoleptic habit. Falling asleep she would then find herself in Prospit, which is one of the cities in Skaia that you can more or less say is a dream world. She only saw it through her dreams where she made countless friends with the people there as well as find her genetic brother John in the neighboring tower.
Skaia is a big part of her history as every time she dreams she comes across clouds in the dream world that show future events, events that will soon enough come to pass. With this knowledge Jade took to making sure these events came to happen, though even if she didn't she knew very well they would. But some also involve her help. How so? Well, she was the one that messaged the other three kids one day and came to introduce them to each other. This was the most important part as the future would rest in their hands when it came to the point where they will play a game together. A game known as Sburb which will end up having them play with the chance of losing their lives to save their planet and universe. So this is what Jade did, she became friends with them and the group grew close while they chattered over the internet. You would think something like seeing events in the cloud happen and even having a dog being able to bend time along with strange things happening on her island is strange and very odd. To anyone else it highly likely is! But actually it is VERY normal to her so this part will help explain the way she is. Another important addition is when it came down to handing out gifts with her friends, John specifically. Being that she received his gift way early on (when she was still a child!) that helped make things for her to understand later on. Now while she seems to be knowledgeable pertaining future events, during that time there was still a lot she did not know was to come or expect. Yes she does see SOME events, but not all and they are never together so they don't exactly explain much. Only that when the time comes around will she know to expect. So once the Sburb game started and she found copies she was able to be Dave's server and lead him into the game, but with her lack of knowledge when it came to playing video games, well.. we can say she was not at ALL good at it. It didn't help when her dream self was in charge at some aspects as her dream self has NO memories of all the important facts and things that Jade knows so it made things all the more difficult.
Fortunately he was able to make it into the game, even with the trouble he had with Jade. Now Jade spent her time waiting for John to wake up in Prospit as she knew he would soon enough, though he was never awake during the whole time Jade was in Prospit she knew now would be the time. Well, not exactly, she knows he's going to wake up but she isn't sure how to wake him nor what she is to do to make it happen. So in her excitement she waited so she could show him the city and the people living there, this being Dream Jade it's no surprise she was so eager to show such things compared to the important matters outside the dream. Eventually she came across the White Queen's ring, another important piece that will lead to events into the future and even further. She knew she had to keep it safe so she kept it close. Eventually events led to Jack Noir getting a hold of the Black Queen's ring after having killed the Black Queen with what was to be a gift for John from Jade, this ended up with Prospit being destroyed by Jack who disconnected Prospit from its moon. On the moon are the towers that house a room for Jade in one and John in the other, meaning John was now in immediate danger and falling out from the tower. Jade doesn't hesitate to try and rescue her friend, who is still asleep and not yet awake, by now after she is trolled by AT (Tavros Nitram) she is now aware that dream selves CAN die. She knows John wakes up eventually, which means John cannot die here. Amidst saving him she manages to push him out of the way in time but ends up getting herself killed in the process. John wakes up shortly after, but Jade's dream self is now unfortunately dead.
Her dream self's death leads to Jade having some horrible and frightening nightmares which forces herself to stay awake rather than sleep. During this time she gets into a few more conversations with the trolls, not wanting to have anything to do with them at first but overtime she came to accept that they were just trolling and being mean cause they had nothing better to do. She explains to John "but i think they are mostly harmless" which leads to her being at least tolerable of them, though it being extremely difficult to do when it comes to Karkat. The events came to reveal that it was Jade's turn to enter the Medium as she was the last of the kids that had yet to join the game. John was her server like she was to Dave to complete the circle of the four. Soon enough Jade eventually came to the final piece that she needed to finish to enter and join them. However, as plans were made between the two kids it didn't go according to plan. A mind controlling troll put John to sleep, leaving Jade to fend for herself with the entry item and in even more danger. But as mentioned before Bec is her loyal and faithful companion, someone who would not dare to risk Jade being harmed and put into danger so did what he could to save her life. Bec jumped into the kernelsprite, prototyping himself and facing the giant meteor zooming down to destroy where Jade was staying upon the island. Fortunately Bec destroyed the meteor and helped Jade finish the entry quest and successfully brought her into the medium. Good dog, best friend.
Sleeping proved to be a thing she should REALLY avoid because while her dreaming wasn't as bad as before it was still enough to make her uncomfortable. Narcolepsy or not, she was forcing herself to stay awake! Unfortunately when John had fallen asleep he ended up losing both his computer and Sburb discs and so with Dave having free time (heheh get it?) he was able to take over control as her new server and help getting the things she needed. Time to get some alchemizing done! While Dave deployed what she needed, Jade got to work and make as much items as she could let it be silly or useful. Such as computers, can never have enough computers on hands! Even if some of the silly things were too overly silly.. Now mentioned before was when Jade was little Bec had turned the fire onto her Grandfather, this is because a particular troll (remember Tavros?) had controlled the canine to do so. Yes, he saved her life, but he killed her Grandfather (actual father!) and acted like it was a good thing. This shows that even if Jade can tolerate trolls, there are just some things she CANNOT tolerate and will hold it against them for such crimes. Especially if they irritate the fuck out of her. With nifty alchemized stuff like her spectgoggles she once again has the opportunity to see things not actual close in front of her. The goggles allow her to see ANYWHERE in the medium, which is nice to have what with when her dream self was alive she saw events through the clouds.
Now came a decision Jade had to make. Earlier Tavros had requested permission to control Bec in fighting and defeating Jack who evolved with Bec's prototype and made him a rather unbeatable boss, but Jade had refused. She took into consideration now and got a better idea, taking her stuffed dead dream self she tossed it to her prototyped Becsprite and made a newly Jadesprite. However, things did not go according to plan. Jadesprite immediately broke down and made the situation extremely concerning and awkward. She blatantly refused to help Jade, which angered her and couldn't believe she was like this while asleep. So she ended up ignoring her and letting Jadesprite do whatever she pleased, focusing on Karkat who came with a request from Jade's future self to take the fourth wall into her sylladex. (Timelines and stuff sure are weird!) But Jade sees nothing abnormal about it and does just as told. With her plans with Jadesprite now thrown out the trash Jade seems to rely on the only other person she can think of and that's Kanaya Maryam. Not only her, but Karkat too. Mostly Kanaya's case being that like Jade she was the Hero of Space. No one other than her would be able to give her insights on what she should do if she was going to try helping out and fix anything.
This is where Kanaya first explains the acts of frog breeding along with her other space duties, such as forging which helps Davesprite when it comes to completing the Royal Deringer which he gives to a Jadesprite to send to Dream Dave. But that's shenanigans that mostly involves them and a little in the future. Frog breeding seemed like the only option and while Kanaya seemed to find the possibilities of completing this very low she still tried to help. It was more like Karkat was the one being pessimistic by all of this. Dave who stopped with his time traveling even came to help Jade out in gathering the frogs which cut the time it took to gather them all fairly quickly. Unfortunately for them, by the time they were nearing to an end did Jack Noir appear. One incident lead to another and Jade ended up shooting Dave, killing him. Not permanently of course! After have an episode at having killed one of her closest friends she gave him a kiss to bring him to life with his Dream self, so that helped solve one thing. After that Jack followed her around, loyally thanks to Bec being prototyped. Jade dubbed him harmless and continued her quest and not get distracted from what had to be done. This went on until Jade finished gathering all the frogs needed except for one.
When Karkat comes to converse with Jade and Kanaya in the memo again, it's actually a very important moment. A critical moment that required all three of their attention. Jade explains that all she needs is the final frog to finish this, but the thing was she had to talk with the denizen of her land to figure out its location. In order to do that she had to make a decision, a decision that could possibly lead to her demise but she agreed anyways. She knew no matter the costs she had to find that last frog. And so she did, rather she REMEMBERED where it was, which lead to her appearifying the frog to complete the breeding. While she awaits where she should she comes across the earlier memo in which she reads Karkat explaining about how wrong it was of him to ignore the frog duties from before. How it had been his fault that things turned out this way and not the humans. He explained he caused a cancer in their universe, which was Jack Noir, that the troll was the reason their universe was doomed from the beginning. Jade reads on and doesn't say anything to him, and from the next conversation they have she doesn't regard the information told at all so it seems like it mattered not that he had caused it since it happened now and led to all of this in the first place. Which now leads up to this point, having been brought aboard and unable to see the results of her quest. Yet, at least.
( personality )
To start off, Jade is one of the sweetest and friendliest girls you will ever meet. That is, so long as you stay on her good side. The way she acts in chat is the same way she is outside of it, being constantly excited and overly enthusiastic. Her personality can be rather quirky and she may even come off as an oddball sometime. Okay, let's be honest, most of the time but it's a charm! Jade is one of the people who will greet you with smiles and a happy-go-lucky attitude, with a giddy gleefulness and a bright optimistic attitude. The young girl always behaves that the next day will only be better and nothing should keep you down for long. She has a lot of interests that's quite strange coming from a thirteen-year-old girl like herself, such as gardening, nuclear physics, gadgetry, anthropomorphic fauna. You can hardly blame her when you learn where she grew up! If you seem like a good person there is no doubt you'll get on Jade's good side, she is happy to meet with people and will come to befriend and care about anyone she likes.
Jade spent growing up on a pacific island with her Grandfather (who was dead yes but she still met him in her dreams and avoided him and his stern lectures!) along with her companion canine friend. Jade never grew up around other children or people which explains why she may seem weird to others. She didn't exactly grow up doing normal kids stuff! She spent her days dreaming, a skilled markswoman, gardening and chatting online with her three internet buddies. Outside of them, she didn't exactly get the proper social experience. So there is actually a lot she may not be knowledgeable about, with her interests yes she will surprise you. Outside of them? Not so much. Things like board games she enjoys and loves to do, but others like video games she never really got hands on so won't understand much. So to say she is clueless and rather oblivious and not much understanding of the trend and or popular interests. This possibly leads her to be VERY much easily impressed. As seen with Dave when she chats with him. In the end she can very much be satisfied even with the smallest of things, still very excitable! Now while she is an excellent shooter, she is quite the pacifist.
Though she's been taught to never leave outdoors without her rifle in hand, she will only strife when completely necessary. Otherwise she tries to hold back from being violent, unless you push her over her limit. She may seem like a perky and always cheerful girl but like most people she will not stand to being jostled and pushed around. While she is willing to talk with anyone, if you're mean and or treat anyone she cares about terribly she WILL show you a piece of her mind. She refuses to let anyone treat her friends poorly, as well as treating her like shit. She will yell, scream and throw an angry fit and react completely negative towards you. As seen with Karkat though, if you have a change of heart then her behavior towards you may change over time even if you've left a bad impression at first. However, you really have to prove yourself. You have to show that you're really trying to be a better person. In a way she is like John, she is willing to give a shot but she's more likely to hold a slight grudge and possibly permanently if you never change your attitude.
Angering or annoying her will lead to some violent reaction though, as seen with Jadesprite when she is unable to calm her down and resorts to slapping and yelling at her. Now while she will lend comfort and reassurance to a friend, she will possibly react awkwardly if she's unable to cheer them up. Her lack of being social with other people from growing up on the island shows in this kind of situation, showing she is unsure as to how to react. Obviously she does care she just doesn't know what to do which may just lead her into crying as well with them if it gets very emotional. Despite all of this you would be foolish to take her as a completely naive girl, she is extremely smart especially when you consider her knowledge and the things she enjoys. She is also very resourceful such as when she is sure to have multiple computers on hand just to be safe and prepared. She considers herself to be strong and always trying to move forward, which she can say differently compared to her dream self (now Jadesprite).
Now how is her dream self/Jadesprite different? One thing is for certain, they both share the same bravery and courage it takes to face enemies as her dream self is seen clobbering the courtyard doll and taking the White Queen's ring away. Along with saving and rescuing John from the collapsing tower even with her life in danger. Jade likely sees her dream self as too carefree, too oblivious to everything that is not Prospit. See here:

Course her dream self is apart of her, which helped her in random moments such as when her present would arrive for John and when exactly he will need it and come across it again, which made her seem psychic when she let some of this information slip to the boy. This had her claiming that she was no more psychic than John, which is true being that she saw this happening in the clouds where John is also currently sleeping in the dream city. She is able to handle information about events to come quite naturally, not questioning it but simply watching it unfold before her and making sure everything goes the way that it's shown. But see while Jade is apart of her dream self, there's more to her. There's the opening of the real world around her, unlike her dream self who feels like she's lived in Prospit all this time. So in the end she can hardly blame her, but she wants to do something rather than sit around and cry like Jadesprite. She refuses to think of the future being anything but better, she will fight for her friends and what she believes in. Jade also shows when the moment comes to it you can rely and believe in her, as she has enough willpower to take control and lead no matter the situation. All of this is what makes Jade Harley.

I could say I was pretty patient what with what's been happening, and really there's just so much you can say after being told that your world just went and got destroyed!! Which isn't much news to me, not exactly, but we were really doing something about it.. You cannot expect me to have a shitload of questions because that's not just RUDE but INCONSIDERATE! So are you going to listen to me right now???" The anger may as well be scorching fire, the Vogor looking burned and maybe even looking perhaps a tad off guard (you can hardly blame it, a little girl like this with such a sharp tongue?) The silence is taken as a yes, she seems to calm down just a little but pointedly to make sure they were still on the same page. "GOOD. I want to ask about my friends whether they're on board, but it's important to know whether Jack is here with me or not! If he is then a lot of people can be put in danger, he's not very good at controlling his temper!" The Vogor is staring at the rifle in hand, possibly wondering whether she filled out the right forms on keeping it. Jade isn't paying attention though. She just puts it away with a obvious tone to her words, "Oh don't look at me like that, it wasn't like I was going to use it on you!" Now that would have been a silly assumption. "Anyways, if you're done treating me like a kid, I WOULD like some answers!"
But no answers were given, no instead the papers were taken from her to place both a towel and book out until the window is unceremoniously slammed shut to forbid any further conversing. Fists are gripped tightly with a frustrated flail from the girl, "Motherfucker!!" Okay this was fine, she could do this herself. A hand raised to tap at a cheek thoughtfully, glancing around for any clues until a thought came to mind. If Jack WAS here then surely a ruckus would be happening somewhere (if he hadn't found her already) instead of these stupid aliens acting without a care in the world. But.. that still hardly made any sense! How would she be here then? How did she GET here? They said they were saved but.. Ugghh, none of this really made any sense. Jade is feeling pretty confident this shouldn't have happened though, the game was in their hands! Not this.. well, whatever it was! No, she is more than sure, the trolls would have mentioned to it to her. If the Scratch successfully was made then they wouldn't be here, and being transported to some ship would definitely have been something she needed to know from them. So.. This was a good thing, right? On one side everyone is safe now, on the other they didn't complete the Scratch and fix everything. But that was okay! All she had to do was find a way back, safely back to finish their plans. Even if it was safe now and no one was hurt, it didn't mean they could stay like this. She, like the others, had a job to do and she was going to see it through no matter what.
Refugees... Spotting someone, someone that wasn't a Vorgon, there's an idea that just maybe somebody else can answer some other questions on mind. "Excuse me! Hello!! Along with her Granddad is Becquerel who is a canine companion with the abilities of a First Guardian that allows him to bend space at will to his choice. Bec is actually extremely loyal to Jade and will do just about anything to save her life. So when there was an incident when she younger that involved her almost shooting herself, it ended up leading to her Granddad's death instead after Bec used his abilities to turn the shot on Granddad instead of Jade. This leads to Jade growing up under Bec's careful and watchful eye, fortunately she still kept in contact with her Granddad one way or another which isn't exactly explained but it could be she talked to him with her dream self. "Dream self" you may be asking now? You see as Jade was growing up she had a lot of trouble sleeping, that was until she started to gain a rather narcoleptic habit. Falling asleep she would then find herself in Prospit, which is one of the cities in Skaia that you can more or less say is a dream world. She only saw it through her dreams where she made countless friends with the people there as well as find her genetic brother John in the neighboring tower.
Skaia is a big part of her history as every time she dreams she comes across clouds in the dream world that show future events, events that will soon enough come to pass. With this knowledge Jade took to making sure these events came to happen, though even if she didn't she knew very well they would. But some also involve her help. How so? Well, she was the one that messaged the other three kids one day and came to introduce them to each other. This was the most important part as the future would rest in their hands when it came to the point where they will play a game together. A game known as Sburb which will end up having them play with the chance of losing their lives to save their planet and universe. So this is what Jade did, she became friends with them and the group grew close while they chattered over the internet. You would think something like seeing events in the cloud happen and even having a dog being able to bend time along with strange things happening on her island is strange and very odd. To anyone else it highly likely is! But actually it is VERY normal to her so this part will help explain the way she is. Another important addition is when it came down to handing out gifts with her friends, John specifically. Being that she received his gift way early on (when she was still a child!) that helped make things for her to understand later on. Now while she seems to be knowledgeable pertaining future events, during that time there was still a lot she did not know was to come or expect. Yes she does see SOME events, but not all and they are never together so they don't exactly explain much. Only that when the time comes around will she know to expect. So once the Sburb game started and she found copies she was able to be Dave's server and lead him into the game, but with her lack of knowledge when it came to playing video games, well.. we can say she was not at ALL good at it. It didn't help when her dream self was in charge at some aspects as her dream self has NO memories of all the important facts and things that Jade knows so it made things all the more difficult.
Fortunately he was able to make it into the game, even with the trouble he had with Jade. Now Jade spent her time waiting for John to wake up in Prospit as she knew he would soon enough, though he was never awake during the whole time Jade was in Prospit she knew now would be the time. Well, not exactly, she knows he's going to wake up but she isn't sure how to wake him nor what she is to do to make it happen. So in her excitement she waited so she could show him the city and the people living there, this being Dream Jade it's no surprise she was so eager to show such things compared to the important matters outside the dream. Eventually she came across the White Queen's ring, another important piece that will lead to events into the future and even further. She knew she had to keep it safe so she kept it close. Eventually events led to Jack Noir getting a hold of the Black Queen's ring after having killed the Black Queen with what was to be a gift for John from Jade, this ended up with Prospit being destroyed by Jack who disconnected Prospit from its moon. On the moon are the towers that house a room for Jade in one and John in the other, meaning John was now in immediate danger and falling out from the tower. Jade doesn't hesitate to try and rescue her friend, who is still asleep and not yet awake, by now after she is trolled by AT (Tavros Nitram) she is now aware that dream selves CAN die. She knows John wakes up eventually, which means John cannot die here. Amidst saving him she manages to push him out of the way in time but ends up getting herself killed in the process. John wakes up shortly after, but Jade's dream self is now unfortunately dead.
Her dream self's death leads to Jade having some horrible and frightening nightmares which forces herself to stay awake rather than sleep. During this time she gets into a few more conversations with the trolls, not wanting to have anything to do with them at first but overtime she came to accept that they were just trolling and being mean cause they had nothing better to do. She explains to John "but i think they are mostly harmless" which leads to her being at least tolerable of them, though it being extremely difficult to do when it comes to Karkat. The events came to reveal that it was Jade's turn to enter the Medium as she was the last of the kids that had yet to join the game. John was her server like she was to Dave to complete the circle of the four. Soon enough Jade eventually came to the final piece that she needed to finish to enter and join them. However, as plans were made between the two kids it didn't go according to plan. A mind controlling troll put John to sleep, leaving Jade to fend for herself with the entry item and in even more danger. But as mentioned before Bec is her loyal and faithful companion, someone who would not dare to risk Jade being harmed and put into danger so did what he could to save her life. Bec jumped into the kernelsprite, prototyping himself and facing the giant meteor zooming down to destroy where Jade was staying upon the island. Fortunately Bec destroyed the meteor and helped Jade finish the entry quest and successfully brought her into the medium. Good dog, best friend.
Sleeping proved to be a thing she should REALLY avoid because while her dreaming wasn't as bad as before it was still enough to make her uncomfortable. Narcolepsy or not, she was forcing herself to stay awake! Unfortunately when John had fallen asleep he ended up losing both his computer and Sburb discs and so with Dave having free time (heheh get it?) he was able to take over control as her new server and help getting the things she needed. Time to get some alchemizing done! While Dave deployed what she needed, Jade got to work and make as much items as she could let it be silly or useful. Such as computers, can never have enough computers on hands! Even if some of the silly things were too overly silly.. Now mentioned before was when Jade was little Bec had turned the fire onto her Grandfather, this is because a particular troll (remember Tavros?) had controlled the canine to do so. Yes, he saved her life, but he killed her Grandfather (actual father!) and acted like it was a good thing. This shows that even if Jade can tolerate trolls, there are just some things she CANNOT tolerate and will hold it against them for such crimes. Especially if they irritate the fuck out of her. With nifty alchemized stuff like her spectgoggles she once again has the opportunity to see things not actual close in front of her. The goggles allow her to see ANYWHERE in the medium, which is nice to have what with when her dream self was alive she saw events through the clouds.
Now came a decision Jade had to make. Earlier Tavros had requested permission to control Bec in fighting and defeating Jack who evolved with Bec's prototype and made him a rather unbeatable boss, but Jade had refused. She took into consideration now and got a better idea, taking her stuffed dead dream self she tossed it to her prototyped Becsprite and made a newly Jadesprite. However, things did not go according to plan. Jadesprite immediately broke down and made the situation extremely concerning and awkward. She blatantly refused to help Jade, which angered her and couldn't believe she was like this while asleep. So she ended up ignoring her and letting Jadesprite do whatever she pleased, focusing on Karkat who came with a request from Jade's future self to take the fourth wall into her sylladex. (Timelines and stuff sure are weird!) But Jade sees nothing abnormal about it and does just as told. With her plans with Jadesprite now thrown out the trash Jade seems to rely on the only other person she can think of and that's Kanaya Maryam. Not only her, but Karkat too. Mostly Kanaya's case being that like Jade she was the Hero of Space. No one other than her would be able to give her insights on what she should do if she was going to try helping out and fix anything.
This is where Kanaya first explains the acts of frog breeding along with her other space duties, such as forging which helps Davesprite when it comes to completing the Royal Deringer which he gives to a Jadesprite to send to Dream Dave. But that's shenanigans that mostly involves them and a little in the future. Frog breeding seemed like the only option and while Kanaya seemed to find the possibilities of completing this very low she still tried to help. It was more like Karkat was the one being pessimistic by all of this. Dave who stopped with his time traveling even came to help Jade out in gathering the frogs which cut the time it took to gather them all fairly quickly. Unfortunately for them, by the time they were nearing to an end did Jack Noir appear. One incident lead to another and Jade ended up shooting Dave, killing him. Not permanently of course! After have an episode at having killed one of her closest friends she gave him a kiss to bring him to life with his Dream self, so that helped solve one thing. After that Jack followed her around, loyally thanks to Bec being prototyped. Jade dubbed him harmless and continued her quest and not get distracted from what had to be done. This went on until Jade finished gathering all the frogs needed except for one.
When Karkat comes to converse with Jade and Kanaya in the memo again, it's actually a very important moment. A critical moment that required all three of their attention. Jade explains that all she needs is the final frog to finish this, but the thing was she had to talk with the denizen of her land to figure out its location. In order to do that she had to make a decision, a decision that could possibly lead to her demise but she agreed anyways. She knew no matter the costs she had to find that last frog. And so she did, rather she REMEMBERED where it was, which lead to her appearifying the frog to complete the breeding. While she awaits where she should she comes across the earlier memo in which she reads Karkat explaining about how wrong it was of him to ignore the frog duties from before. How it had been his fault that things turned out this way and not the humans. He explained he caused a cancer in their universe, which was Jack Noir, that the troll was the reason their universe was doomed from the beginning. Jade reads on and doesn't say anything to him, and from the next conversation they have she doesn't regard the information told at all so it seems like it mattered not that he had caused it since it happened now and led to all of this in the first place. Which now leads up to this point, having been brought aboard and unable to see the results of her quest. Yet, at least.

To start off, Jade is one of the sweetest and friendliest girls you will ever meet. That is, so long as you stay on her good side. The way she acts in chat is the same way she is outside of it, being constantly excited and overly enthusiastic. Her personality can be rather quirky and she may even come off as an oddball sometime. Okay, let's be honest, most of the time but it's a charm! Jade is one of the people who will greet you with smiles and a happy-go-lucky attitude, with a giddy gleefulness and a bright optimistic attitude. The young girl always behaves that the next day will only be better and nothing should keep you down for long. She has a lot of interests that's quite strange coming from a thirteen-year-old girl like herself, such as gardening, nuclear physics, gadgetry, anthropomorphic fauna. You can hardly blame her when you learn where she grew up! If you seem like a good person there is no doubt you'll get on Jade's good side, she is happy to meet with people and will come to befriend and care about anyone she likes.
Jade spent growing up on a pacific island with her Grandfather (who was dead yes but she still met him in her dreams and avoided him and his stern lectures!) along with her companion canine friend. Jade never grew up around other children or people which explains why she may seem weird to others. She didn't exactly grow up doing normal kids stuff! She spent her days dreaming, a skilled markswoman, gardening and chatting online with her three internet buddies. Outside of them, she didn't exactly get the proper social experience. So there is actually a lot she may not be knowledgeable about, with her interests yes she will surprise you. Outside of them? Not so much. Things like board games she enjoys and loves to do, but others like video games she never really got hands on so won't understand much. So to say she is clueless and rather oblivious and not much understanding of the trend and or popular interests. This possibly leads her to be VERY much easily impressed. As seen with Dave when she chats with him. In the end she can very much be satisfied even with the smallest of things, still very excitable! Now while she is an excellent shooter, she is quite the pacifist.
Though she's been taught to never leave outdoors without her rifle in hand, she will only strife when completely necessary. Otherwise she tries to hold back from being violent, unless you push her over her limit. She may seem like a perky and always cheerful girl but like most people she will not stand to being jostled and pushed around. While she is willing to talk with anyone, if you're mean and or treat anyone she cares about terribly she WILL show you a piece of her mind. She refuses to let anyone treat her friends poorly, as well as treating her like shit. She will yell, scream and throw an angry fit and react completely negative towards you. As seen with Karkat though, if you have a change of heart then her behavior towards you may change over time even if you've left a bad impression at first. However, you really have to prove yourself. You have to show that you're really trying to be a better person. In a way she is like John, she is willing to give a shot but she's more likely to hold a slight grudge and possibly permanently if you never change your attitude.
Angering or annoying her will lead to some violent reaction though, as seen with Jadesprite when she is unable to calm her down and resorts to slapping and yelling at her. Now while she will lend comfort and reassurance to a friend, she will possibly react awkwardly if she's unable to cheer them up. Her lack of being social with other people from growing up on the island shows in this kind of situation, showing she is unsure as to how to react. Obviously she does care she just doesn't know what to do which may just lead her into crying as well with them if it gets very emotional. Despite all of this you would be foolish to take her as a completely naive girl, she is extremely smart especially when you consider her knowledge and the things she enjoys. She is also very resourceful such as when she is sure to have multiple computers on hand just to be safe and prepared. She considers herself to be strong and always trying to move forward, which she can say differently compared to her dream self (now Jadesprite).
Now how is her dream self/Jadesprite different? One thing is for certain, they both share the same bravery and courage it takes to face enemies as her dream self is seen clobbering the courtyard doll and taking the White Queen's ring away. Along with saving and rescuing John from the collapsing tower even with her life in danger. Jade likely sees her dream self as too carefree, too oblivious to everything that is not Prospit. See here:

Course her dream self is apart of her, which helped her in random moments such as when her present would arrive for John and when exactly he will need it and come across it again, which made her seem psychic when she let some of this information slip to the boy. This had her claiming that she was no more psychic than John, which is true being that she saw this happening in the clouds where John is also currently sleeping in the dream city. She is able to handle information about events to come quite naturally, not questioning it but simply watching it unfold before her and making sure everything goes the way that it's shown. But see while Jade is apart of her dream self, there's more to her. There's the opening of the real world around her, unlike her dream self who feels like she's lived in Prospit all this time. So in the end she can hardly blame her, but she wants to do something rather than sit around and cry like Jadesprite. She refuses to think of the future being anything but better, she will fight for her friends and what she believes in. Jade also shows when the moment comes to it you can rely and believe in her, as she has enough willpower to take control and lead no matter the situation. All of this is what makes Jade Harley.

That did it. A sudden quick jerk of her leg was made to the wall beneath the window and the Vogor was knocked back provided from the force, the 'little girl' standing with a very crossed look on her face with hands now on a rifle taken from the riflekind. I could say I was pretty patient what with what's been happening, and really there's just so much you can say after being told that your world just went and got destroyed!! Which isn't much news to me, not exactly, but we were really doing something about it.. You cannot expect me to have a shitload of questions because that's not just RUDE but INCONSIDERATE! So are you going to listen to me right now???" The anger may as well be scorching fire, the Vogor looking burned and maybe even looking perhaps a tad off guard (you can hardly blame it, a little girl like this with such a sharp tongue?) The silence is taken as a yes, she seems to calm down just a little but pointedly to make sure they were still on the same page. "GOOD. I want to ask about my friends whether they're on board, but it's important to know whether Jack is here with me or not! If he is then a lot of people can be put in danger, he's not very good at controlling his temper!" The Vogor is staring at the rifle in hand, possibly wondering whether she filled out the right forms on keeping it. Jade isn't paying attention though. She just puts it away with a obvious tone to her words, "Oh don't look at me like that, it wasn't like I was going to use it on you!" Now that would have been a silly assumption. "Anyways, if you're done treating me like a kid, I WOULD like some answers!"
But no answers were given, no instead the papers were taken from her to place both a towel and book out until the window is unceremoniously slammed shut to forbid any further conversing. Fists are gripped tightly with a frustrated flail from the girl, "Motherfucker!!" Okay this was fine, she could do this herself. A hand raised to tap at a cheek thoughtfully, glancing around for any clues until a thought came to mind. If Jack WAS here then surely a ruckus would be happening somewhere (if he hadn't found her already) instead of these stupid aliens acting without a care in the world. But.. that still hardly made any sense! How would she be here then? How did she GET here? They said they were saved but.. Ugghh, none of this really made any sense. Jade is feeling pretty confident this shouldn't have happened though, the game was in their hands! Not this.. well, whatever it was! No, she is more than sure, the trolls would have mentioned to it to her. If the Scratch successfully was made then they wouldn't be here, and being transported to some ship would definitely have been something she needed to know from them. So.. This was a good thing, right? On one side everyone is safe now, on the other they didn't complete the Scratch and fix everything. But that was okay! All she had to do was find a way back, safely back to finish their plans. Even if it was safe now and no one was hurt, it didn't mean they could stay like this. She, like the others, had a job to do and she was going to see it through no matter what.
Refugees... Spotting someone, someone that wasn't a Vorgon, there's an idea that just maybe somebody else can answer some other questions on mind. "Excuse me! Hello!! I kinda have some questions, do you think you can help me?" There's that giddy excitement again, you can hardly blame her she wasn't use to seeing so many people in one place like this. Jade gives a wide smile to the person, holding a promise that it was time to give it her all and fix this as well.
