The Wire = boring, pretentious nonsense.
All I have to say is that watching an hour of The Wire feels longer than watching a four-hour Wagnerian opera. And the opera would be more realistic, too. D'Angelo is a drug dealer from the ghetto who critiques corporations and plays chess. Sorry, but only a white liberal could imagine a drug dealer being like that. In order to be a drug dealer, you have to be too stupid and intellectually dim-witted to get a real job, and even if you weren't such an idiot, the ghetto is the least intellectually engaging place in America.
Yeah, I can see why Obama loves the show. It's a show about black men with white personalities.
