Am I really no longer a high school student?

So. I'm now an alumnus of SJS.

It's weird because, after I barely survived my freshman and sophomore years at SJS, my mum suggested that I consider transferring to St. Agnes (I vaguely referred to this in my "farewell from the editor-in-chief" in The Review). Of course, even back then I didn't even dream of leaving SJS... and now, here I am. I am done with St. John's!

The commencement ceremony was fine, at least once it started. Before that, we were all crowded in that hall and dying of the heat: we were in close quarters, and the gowns weren't helping. And before that, Mc'ster, Cat, Allison, Smee, Nice Sarah, and I were lounging on a couch, impatiently waiting. And before that, Cat and I took photos in the mosquito-y courtyard (I ended up with four bites around my right ankle, and Mc'ster informed me that I could have West Nile... thanks, Mc'ster - love ya, too!).

And then the ceremony. I didn't trip! Yay. However, I did forget to turn my tassel in time for the photographer - so in the photograph, my tassel will still be on the left side of my mortarboard. Oops. I'm glad I'm not the only one who made that mistake.

At the beginning of the reception, Hannah and I found Kef (I now feel comfortable calling him "Kef" in public entries: he's cool with it now I've graduated) right away and asked him how tall he is. Six feet and five inches. So he's more than a foot taller than I am, which is RIDICULOUS. And when he gave Hannah and me hugs after congratulating us, he had to bend waaay down. Compare that to Mr. Popp, who gave me a hug later and who's at a more convenient height!

Then dinner... with the immediate family, the grandparents, and Jamie, who came to the ceremony with us. And now I'm home and still in a daze...

A few important/random notices:
  • I'm coming to school to-morrow (ridiculous, isn't it!) to pick up my yearbook, to go out with Justin and Morgan later, and to wrap up a few other things at school. Upon Will H.'s (freshman) suggestion, I'm going to get a visitor's name tag and everything. It'll be great. Anyway. I'll be on campus all afternoon, so if you can, find me and sign my yearbook and I'll sign yours!
  • I have a lot of random photos from the ceremony and the reception, as well as dinner, so later I'll be posting those and sending the raw copies to the other people who appear in them. Those will be in a locked entry, for obvious reasons.
  • SOME OF MY PHOTOS MADE IT INTO THE YEARBOOK! I was looking at my little brother's yearbook, and I saw the Imagination page and thought, "Heyyy... some of these photos look really familiar." Then I saw the credit and freaked out: "OHMYGOSH!" So, yes. Tres cool!
Hmm...

Okay, guys, I'm going to be gone in a week and two days, and I'm not coming back to H-town until August... and even then, I'll be in town for only a week before I truck off for Mizzou. So we must do something together before I leave! Like, let's do something fun and inexpensive and inside an air-conditioned area. Pwease?
