Chapter 25

Seems that I have been held in some dreaming state
No Kiss, No Gentle Words, Could wake me from this slumber
Till I realised it was you who held me under

Opening her eyes slowly, Jenny awoke to the sight of Nate sleeping quietly next to her. Smiling, she rested her head on his chest listening to his heartbeat. Last night had been more perfect than she could have ever imagined, Nate had took her to new depths, made her body experience feelings she didn’t even know were possible but the best part, was the way his eyes sparkled the entire time, was when she heard him whisper how much he loved her when he thought she was sleeping, feeling him kiss her forehead when he got up in the night for water, and how he held her in his arms, making her feel the safest she’d ever felt in her entire life. She was finally content, Nate was her missing puzzle, and now she felt complete.

Kissing the direct spot over his heart, she sat up slowly, stretching as she did so, before feeling Nate grab her arm.

“Where are you going?”, he croaked out his eyes still closed.

“Im goin’ to the bathroom,” Jenny replied smirking.

“No no no, your lying back down here with me.” Pulling Jenny gently back down to her previous spot he wrapped his arm around her shoulder before kissing her forehead. Licking her lips, Jenny propped herself up against Nate’s chest watching as he opened his eyes. Scanning his face it wasn’t long before Jenny noticed a small purple bruise that had formed on Nate’s neck. Widening her eyes, she stroked it gently.

“Did I do that?”, Jenny asked running her thumb over it.

“Yep, I gotta admit wasn’t expecting it.” Nate muttered rubbing his eyes. “Who knew ‘Little J’, had a rough side?”.

Jenny smiled, shaking her head. “Don’t call me that.”

Smirking Nate inspected Jenny’s face, almost getting lost in her eyes he found himself staring at her neck.

“You know I don’t see any bite marks on you, I must have been pretty gentle last night.”

“You were”, Jenny muttered making small circles on his chest.

“Well, I think it’s only fair we even things out a little bit….”.

Arching her eyebrows Jenny wondered what Nate was talking about, before she could say anything he had flipped her over, and was making a B line for her neck.

“No Nate! Stop it!”, Jenny laughed trying to push him away.

“Oh come on, one bite?!”, Nate pleaded before smiling at her.

“No, what are you Edward Cullen?!”.

Laughing, Nate began sucking and licking her neck, gently places small kisses along her collarbone.

“Na…”, Jenny couldn’t fight anymore, she felt her body quivering underneath him. Closing her eyes, her body shook with every kiss he left. Fisting her hands in his hair, she allowed her mouth to fall open slightly. Hearing her cell ringing, Jenny snapped out of her trance reaching for her purse, it was almost impossible to open with Nate still assaulting her neck, finally pulling out her phone she frowned at the name she saw pop up on the screen.

“Vanessa?”.

“Urghh that’s a buzz kill.” Nate muttered rolling off of Jenny.

“Why is she calling me?”, Jenny mumbled to herself before pressing the answer button.

“Don’t answer…”, Nate said watching Jenny raise the phone to her ear.

“Vanessa, what’s up?”.

“Hey Jenny, nothing much I just wanted to umm talk…”

Rolling his eyes, Nate took a sip of the water that was resting on his bedside cabinet, before looking back over at Jenny.

“About what?”, Jenny asked pulling the bed sheets over her naked body.

“I don’t know, I guess I just wanted to catch up. We havent really talked in forever”

“Yeah I know…”, Jenny replied.

Licking his lips, Nate leaned back over to Jenny before continuing his assault on her neck. Rolling her eyes, Jenny felt her stomach fluttering as Nate ran his hand down her waist. “But, now’s not really a good.. time.” She managed to spit out as Nate planted kisses underneath her chin.

“Oh ok, what do you say about meeting up for lunch later?”

Propping up her face with his thumb and index finger Nate slanted his lips onto hers, drawing out the kisses Nate reached for Jenny’s hand moving it away from ear, causing Jenny to drop her phone onto the bed. Wrapping her arms around Nate’s neck, Jenny completely forgetting about the conversation she was just having with Vanessa.

“Jenny? Hello, Jenny are you there?”

Pulling away from Nate she grabbed her phone quickly. “Vanessa hey, sorry I dropped my phone. What did you say?”. Looking over at Nate, she smacked his shoulder playfully causing him to wince in pain.

Jenny widened her eyes. “Sorry…”, she whispered, before smiling at Nate.

“I wanted to know if you wanted to go for lunch later?”

“Lunch yeah sure, I‘ll see you later.”

Frustrated, Nate sighed before grabbing Jenny’s phone and throwing it away from the two of them. Tucking his hands underneath Jenny’s back he sat her up on his lap, wrapping her legs around him Jenny rested her forehead against his. “Well that was rude…”, Jenny laughed.

“Well what can I say, Im impatient.” Kissing Jenny slowly he rested her back down onto the bed his lips not moving from hers. Running his hands over her breasts, Jenny moaned against his lips pulling away she grabbed Nate’s watch from his cabinet.

“Is that the time?!”,  Jenny shouted wriggling from underneath Nate. “I have to go before Dan wakes up.”

“Jenny it’s 9:30, Chance’s are he’s awake now anyway”.

“Well I cant risk it, if he knows I didn’t come home last night he’ll freak, and that’s the last thing I need.”

Getting out of bed, Jenny wrapped the bed sheet around her, looking for her underwear.

“Im sure he wont even notice your gone.“ Nate replied sitting up.

Putting on her panties, Jenny turned to face Nate. “You clearly don’t know my brother.”

Looking to the side of his bed Nate found Jenny’s bra, picking it up he began waving it in front of her.

“Looking for this?”

Smirking, Jenny snatched it off him feeling weirdly embarrassed that Nate had seen her bra. Throwing the bed sheet at him, she picked up her dress - it was still soaked.

“Damn it, there’s no way I can go home in this it’s soaking.”

“Well here, just borrow one of my shirts.” Nate offered putting on his boxers he walked over to a chair he picked up the shirt he had gotten out for her last night.

“I cant go home in just a shirt Nate…”, Jenny laughed running her hands through her hair.

“Why not? You know look beautiful in anything”.

Smiling, Jenny walked over to Nate throwing her arms around his neck. “Well you see, there’s this website you might have heard of it, it’s called Gossip Girl, and it’s quite fond of posting pictures of me on there.”

Rolling his eyes, Nate smiled broadly. “Jenny it’s 9:30 in the morning on a Sunday, I really doubt anyone’s gonna be snapping any photo’s of you.”

“I don’t know…”, Jenny muttered.

“Well you can always stay here with me for a little longer”, Grabbing her hips, Nate gently pulled her against his chest , observing his half naked body Jenny moaned.

“Gimme’ the shirt”, watching as he sat back down on the bed she put on the shirt rolling the sleeves up, she observed the room she was in.

“What are you doing back here anyways?”

“It’s my home…”, Nate replied laying down on the bed.

“Yeah I know, but you havent been back here in forever.”

“Well since I cant be with you at the loft, and Im not going back to the Empire. This was pretty much the only solution. Mom only kept this house for me anyways, since she’s in the Hampton’s now and my dad, well you know about him.” Nate laughed weakly.

“Yeah I know.” Jenny muttered noticing Nate’s lowered tones as he mentioned his father, it was obvious he missed him. Licking her lips she put on her shoes, a shirt and stiletto’s… now she really was like Serena. Grabbing her purse she walked over to the door, opening it slowly she watched as Nate sat up.

“Call me later ok?”, Jenny asked tucking her purse under her arm.

“Of course.” Smiling, Nate couldn’t help but admire her legs they looked amazing. So long, and smooth. He’d defiantly be calling her later. Walking through the door she stopped as she heard Nate shouting her.

“Jenny!”.

Running back into the room, Jenny tucked her hair behind her ear.  “What? Nate come on, Im in a hurry!”

Nate shrugged. “I love you.” He muttered softly, smirking as he did so.
Jenny almost lost her breath, this was so surreal. So amazing, this couldn’t be her life, Nate Archibald couldn’t be saying this to her.

Suddenly feeling overcome by joy, she began blushing. Looking down, she bit her jaw. “I love you too.” Shaking her head, she couldn’t stop smiling, looking up she saw Nate observing her face, smirking at her. She hated getting embarrassed in front of him.

“I have to go.” Running out of the room, she shut the door behind her.

Nate laughed, running his hands through his messy hair he laid back down onto the bed, listening to her leave… he missed her already.

Climbing into a cab as quickly as she could, she found herself looking over her shoulder with every step she took, she was lucky. Nobody was about, no phones were out, the only person to have seen her leave Nate’s was the cab driver, and she really doubted he knew about Gossip Girl. Jenny noticed him scanning her legs and her attire. Tugging at Nate’s shirt, she felt uncomfortable. The only photo’s he’d be taking off her, would be for his own private collection. Pervert.

“You have a good night?”, the creepy guy asked looking into his rear view mirror.

“Great, thanks.” Please stop talking to me. Folding her arms, she sniffed the shirt it smelt of Nate, her legs felt like jelly. His smell still sent shivers down her spine, the elation soon washed over her like a tidal wave, nothing could ruin her happiness, a guy could mug her and punch her in the face and she was sure she would still be smiling, finally arriving back in Brooklyn Jenny’s smiled soon disappeared as they drove past the Gallery… Vanessa. Why did she agree to this lunch? It was going to be torture.

….

Sneaking into the loft, she looked around thankfully there was nobody about. Running to her room, she shut the door behind her. Luck was on her side today.

“Jenny?”, she heard Dan mutter.

Widening her eyes, she threw herself into bed throwing the covers over her.

“Jen, you awake?”, opening her door slowly Dan looked down at his sister.

“Yeah Im awake”, Jenny muttered, rubbing her eyes.

“Good Im gonna make some breakfast you want some?”.

“Sure.” Jenny replied smiling at Dan.

“Alright.” Watching as he shut the door, she jumped out of bed. Removing Nate’s shirt, she folded it up and put it into her drawer, there was no way he was getting this back now. Rummaging through her clothes, she threw on a pair of sweats and a t shirt, throwing her hair up into a messy bun she walked out of her room into the kitchen. Where she found another leggy blonde, sitting at the counter.

“Serena? What are you doing here?”, Jenny asked, smiling she made her way around the counter to her brother.

“Hey Jenny. Figured I’d kidnapped Dan enough times these past couple weeks, I’d stay over here for once.”

Smiling, Dan looked up at his girlfriend. “Yeah, we shouted you to come watch a movie with us but Serena said you were pretty out of it.”

Jenny widened her eyes, before looking over at her step sister. “Yeah… I was, it was a long night.” Nodding her head, she spun herself around putting the coffee machine on. Thank god, Serena had covered for her.

“Yeah it was a pretty great night, although Vanessa seemed pretty upset when she left though.”

Jenny’s stomach twisted, he’d reminded her of their lunch later on.

Swallowing deeply, she open the cabinet pulling out three mugs. “Oh yeah?”, she muttered,

“Yeah, things must not have gone too well with Nate.”

Pouring the coffee into the mugs, she frowned. “I guess not.”

“Maybe he’s into somebody else…”, Serena mumbled grabbing a strawberry and biting into it, causing Dan to frown at her.

Turning around, Jenny placed the mugs onto the counter before looking up at Serena. Serena raised her eyebrows to Jenny, smiling. Oh, she knew exactly what she was doing.

“Who else could he be into? I mean Blair’s with Chuck, and your with me…”

“And it’s staying that way”, Serena interrupted nodding her head. Dan smiled before continuing his sentence.

“Him and Vanessa seem perfect for each other, I mean what’s the problem?”, Jenny shot her brother a disapprovingly look. She really did hate him sometimes. Shoving his coffee in front of him, she split a little on his shirt.

“Ow! That’s hot!”, Dan yelled grabbing a cloth.

“Oops.” Jenny muttered bitterly, taking a sip of her coffee. That’ll teach him.

“Dan, maybe Nate’s found someone else. I mean no offence to Vanessa or anything, but I just never got those two…”, Serena muttered grabbing a spoon and stirring her coffee.

“Yeah, I mean those two together made as much sense as… you two together.” Jenny replied looking at her brother, causing the two blondes to laugh.

Moving his attention from his shirt to his girlfriend and sister, Dan threw the cloth onto the counter. “Hey look it made sense at the time ok?”.

“Im sure it did…”, Jenny laughed picking at the fruit chopped up on the counter.

“Yeah I mean lets face it, you and Nate aren’t exactly the brightest of the bunch.” Serena giggled.

“Oh I see so it’s girls together now right?”, Dan replied pushing Jenny’s hand away from the fruit.

“It was inevitable Humphrey.” Serena said climbing off her chair and walking over to Dan.

“Well, Im just glad you two are getting along again.” Dan muttered, kissing his girlfriend quickly.

“Me too.” Jenny replied, smiling at how happy her brother seemed, Serena only made him glow like this. He was always so broody without her.

Serena smiled at Jenny. “Yeah, good for us. Bad for you.” Picking up a handful of strawberries she threw them at Dan’s face, causing Jenny to laugh hysterically.

“Alright, thank you! Im gonna go change my shirt.” Winking at Jenny, Dan made his way to his room.

Looking over at Serena, Jenny licked her lips. “Thanks for covering for me last night.” She whispered.

“Don’t worry about it, I was gonna give it until like 10 this morning before I told Dan you weren’t home.”

“Guess I was lucky then.” Jenny muttered, putting down her coffee.

“Yeah, so Im guessing you were with Nate last night?”

Jenny began to smile, nodding her head slowly. Serena noticed her cheeks turning a slight crimson color.

“Im happy for you.” Serena whispered, as she saw Dan approach his room.

“Thanks.” Jenny replied. “Im gonna take a shower, while breakfast is cooking.” Jenny proclaimed making her way past her brother.

Shutting the bathroom door behind her, she exhaled loudly. She couldn’t get her lunch with Vanessa off her mind. It was already 10:15, time was flying. Removing her shirt, she turned on the shower, wondering what Vanessa wanted in the first place.

….

Making her way into the gallery, Jenny shook her hands nervously. There was no sign of Vanessa. Maybe she wasn’t here? Thank god. Turning to leave, she heard Vanessa shout her name.

“Jenny, Hey!”

Shutting her eyes tightly, Jenny turned around quickly to face Vanessa.

“Hey.” Jenny replied, forcing herself to smile.

“Let me finish up here, and I’ll meet you in the café.”

“Ok.” Jenny muttered, nodding her head. Making her way to the café, she sat down at one of the empty tables, pulling out her phone she noticed she had a text. It was from Nate.

I Miss You! x

Smiling, Jenny quickly shoved her phone back into her pocket as Vanessa sat down across from her.

“Im starving what dya want?”, Vanessa asked almost out of breath.

“Um, a sandwich is fine.” Jenny replied, she actually wasn’t that hungry she was still full from the breakfast Dan made her, and was far too nervous to eat anything.

Sitting back down, Vanessa passed Jenny hers. “I made you one earlier.”

“Thanks…”, Jenny laughed, she’d never seen Vanessa this attentive before.

Tucking into their sandwiches, Jenny actually found herself enjoying Vanessa’s company. The two hadn’t talked properly in so long, and it was fun talking about old movies and music with her again.

Taking the last bite of her sandwich, Vanessa pushed the plate away from her. “Mm, you want dessert?”

“No, Im totally full”, Jenny said tucking her hair behind her ear. That was the biggest sandwich she’d ever seen in her life, and now she wanted dessert?!

Grabbing the plates, Vanessa placed them onto the counter before sitting back down across from Jenny.

“So last night, was kind of a disaster huh?”, Vanessa muttered sipping her orange juice.

Jenny gulped, she knew it was only a matter of time before she mentioned that. “Was it? I didn’t notice.”

“Yeah I mean things were going great with me and Nate, and then all of a sudden you walk in and he runs after you. What was that about?”

Jenny rubbed her hands over her thighs nervously. “I have no idea.” Jenny mumbled, looking down. She couldn’t look into her eyes, and lie. Vanessa knew her pretty well, to know when she lying.

“Ive been trying to get inside his head you know? Maybe he felt guilty about last year, he probably thought that if you saw us together again, it’d upset you or something…”

“Maybe…”, Jenny raised her eyebrows, looking around the café for an escape route.

“He was pretty angry with me last night, it must have just been a shock.” Vanessa ran her finger over the glass. “You’d be cool with it, if me and Nate got back together right?”

Jenny’s stomach twisted as she clenched her fists, looking over the door she noticed the male figure walking inside. “Dad!”, Jenny shouted getting up and hugging him. He couldn’t have come at a better time.

“Hey Kiddo, Vanessa.”

“What are you doing here?”, Jenny asked smiling broadly at him, she’d hardly seen him since returning the last she saw him was when she was with… Liam.

“Well I was on my way to the loft actually, but figured I’d make a B line to the Gallery first. Im glad I did. The place looks great Vanessa.”

“Thanks Rufus”, Vanessa replied smiling at him.

“So what brings you back to Brooklyn? Is everything ok with you and Lilly?” Jenny asked quickly.

“Everything’s fine. I just came to tell you all that Lilly and I, are throwing a little get together dinner tonight and wanted to know If you two wanted to come”

“Who’s invited?”, Jenny asked.

“Well Lilly already asked Chuck, which means him and Blair will be there…”

“Oh great.” Vanessa muttered, causing her and Jenny to laugh weakly.

“And of course Eric will be there, Vanessa your practically family so of course your invited. And I was on my way to go tell Dan and Serena.”

“Cool, I mean apart from Blair being there. I think I can manage.” Jenny replied. “What time?”

“Well, Blair will have me and your brother to deal with if she chooses to say anything. And around 7?”

“Ok.” Jenny nodded her head before Rufus put his arms around her.

“Ok and I called Nate and he said he’s coming, so it’s a full house.” Jenny gulped, her stomach knotted.  Vanessa, Blair and Nate all in one room?! Oh great.

“Oh that’s great!”, Vanessa smiled. “Well I better get back to work, I’ll see you guys later. It was great catching up Jenny.”

“Yeah, I’ll see you later.” Jenny mumbled.

“So Kiddo, What dya say about spending some time with your Dad?”

Jenny laughed weakly. “Sounds good to me.” Making her way out of the Gallery, Jenny stomach’s twisted she couldn’t cope with Blair and Vanessa tonight, not to mention trying to ignore the fact that her body was on fire whenever she was near Nate.

….
Jenny looked at her watch. 6:17PM. Pacing around her room she observed the dress she was wearing, she didn’t even have time to process the fact she looked nice. Grabbing her phone, she dialled Nate’s number. Waiting anxiously for him to pick up, something that didn’t take him very long to do.

Jenny, Hey!

“Hey, umm… so tonight.”

Yeah, you freaking out too?

“Just a little.” Jenna laughed weakly.

Im sorry, I shouldn’t have agreed to go, it’s just your dad can be very persistent with these things.

“No no, Im glad your coming. I need you there. I just, Blair’s gonna be there and Vanessa…”

Oh yeah, how did your lunch go?

“Well she seems to have got it into her head that you guys are getting back together.”

Urghh. I’ll talk to her. Look I gotta go and get ready, we’ll be fine ok?

Jenny sighed. “Ok, I’ll see you in a little bit. I love you.”

I love you too Jenny.

Smiling she threw her phone onto her bed, running over the mirror one more time she smooth down her dress. Before hearing Dan knock on her door.

“You decent?”

“Yeah…”, Jenny shouted applying her lipstick.

Opening the door, Dan’s eyes widened as he looked at his sister.

“What?!”, Jenny asked. “Is my hair a mess?”

“No…”, Dan laughed. “You look great Jen.”

“Thanks.” Throwing her phone and lipstick into her purse, she walked over to Dan before hugging him gently.

“Whats this for?”, Dan muttered holding his sister.

“I just love you, that’s all.” Pulling away the two siblings smiled at each other.

“Come on, lets go.” Grabbing Jenny’s coat he passed it to her as they made their way out of the loft.

How the hell was she gonna get through tonight?!
