as May 2007 comes to a close....
May is the month that we returned from Road trip 2007, but that's not the only thing that has happened this month.
in may, i got a job transfer from assistant manager/server to kitchen manager/non-server. of course, in my infinite wisdom, this has transpired during the hot season. oh well, it could be worse. my job now, is to clean up the kitchen literally and figuratively. it's kind of difficult, because i haven't been in the kitchen for around a year, and i don't have THAT much experience. but i do know how to get things done....
in may, i quit smoking. it's going really well, actually. it's not difficult for me. the trick, because there is a trick to quitting smoking, is to NOT try until you are ready. don't do it. the only reason it's been easy for me this time is because i WANTED to quit. this is time 14. please, if you smoke, take my advice. don't quit until you want to, because you will fail.
in may, i gave up on stereotypes. i just want to be happy and me, and i really don't give a fuck about you. *no offense, and not you my friends, the hypothetical you of general public* i gave up on men again, which i am glad about. i spent the last half of april with men on the brain, and didn't realize how much they distracted me from the things i want: to be happy and myself. so, i'm going to ignore them!
in may, i finally went kayaking. we went off gabriola island, near the foot islands. it was beautiful!! it was nice getting back to the island too. i was only there for a little while, but i'm really not a city person, so it was nice to be away from the large population.
may has seen me give in to the demon called facebook, yet not really willingly. i am going to avoid becoming an addict. i don't want my blog to suffer, just because i have other people to talk to on a different site!! this thing's for me, so it has to take priority!!!
in may, Carolynn and i went to our first improv challenge. it was hilarious! most likely become a recurring date for us.
