So I know I've been MIA...again. I guess everyone on my f-list is used to that by now though!
Tim has managed to convince me to go ahead and take classes this summer even though I had previously decided against it. I'm glad he did! In case I didn't share, I got 3 A's and a B for the Spring semester. I'm very proud of myself even though it is cheesy community college classes.
Tim and I have been talking a lot about potential evacuation plans in case a storm comes into the gulf. We can already smell the oil from our house and we both have bad feelings about hurricane season this year. I actually took a loan from my 401K last week so I could put a little extra money aside just in case we have to evacuate. After the move, I got all of our important paperwork together and ready just in case. I got all of my pictures together and put them in plastic containers for easy packing. I even made a check-list of all of the important things we absolutely CANNOT leave behind. Basically, we feel like we have to be prepared to leave and be gone for an extended period of time. If that oil comes inland anymore than it already has, it will literally be in our backyard. Scary thought, right? Add to that the potential for a hurricane? Geez. Just the storm surge from a storm ANYwhere in the gulf could be potential disastrous to us.
Just so you all know, our new TV is definitely on the list of things we cannot leave behind!!!
This summer is already nearing record highs and its not even mid-June yet. I'm dreading August. The heat index today was 101. The humidity is also completely out of control. FML. This doesn't make me feel any more at ease regarding the coming hurricane season.
Some summer excitement: Tim changed his availability at work so he won't be working Wednesdays anymore. Since my days off are Wed and Thur he's been working the lunch shift both days and I've been with Benjamin. Now we will have one day a week where all three of us get to spend time together and have fun as a family! We are calling it Darday (get it, instead of Dardar?)! Today was our first ever Darday but we ended up using it to get some errands done and left Benjamin with my grandma and two of his cousins. It was still really nice to have the whole day with my hubbs but I missed Benjamin A LOT! I guess its important to have a mommy and daddy day here and there too.
Speaking of, our second anniversary is coming up soon. June 22 to be exact. I plan on starting the Project 365 on that day. That's where you take a picture a day for a year. I think it will be fun and interesting and a great way to play with my new toy!
I guess that's about all for now. :)
