So I spoke with one of my employees who's father is a Captain for the Plaquemine's Parish Sheriff's Office.  I told her about the run-in I had with the cop who totally abused his power in an attempt to belittle and humiliate me.  She called her dad for me and he listened to everything I had to say about what happened.  I explained to him that I didn't want him to say or do anything because I was worried that this prick would try to retaliate in some way.  He told me that this is not the first complaint he has had on this particular guy regarding something of this nature.

He called the jerk into his office and asked him to explain what happened.  The cop told him that I falsly accused a family of smoking crack and kept on about how it was a family and how I shouldn't have lied about a family smoking crack around their 3 year old.  The Captain told him that it is not so much of a stretch for someone to smoke crack in front of their child, it happens all the time.  Also, just because they didn't find any evidence doesn't mean it didn't happen.  They could have gotten rid of everything by the time the cops got there.  Also, he told him that it was COMPLETELY inappropriate for him to have me go to give a statement.  He fussed at him for what he did to me and told him that one more complaint would mean he would no longer be employed by the Plaquemine's Parish Sheriff's Department.  He also warned him that if, for any reason, I felt that I was being retaliated against by him or another officer, that his job would most certainly be on the line.  He then called me and made the cop apologize to me over the phone.

Ah, sweet victory.
