December Pick-a-date meme: Favorite Statue/Sculpture

Look at me, I'm actually posting! On TIME even! ^__- For tasabianSo, I'm terrible at actually picking favorites...of anything really. I just like waaaay too much stuff. And sculptures have always been an art form I particularly enjoy. What a wonderful answer! I asked because when I travel, I like to get to know a city through its art and those are often the visual memories that stay with me.

I visited St Peter's on a dark November day - not many tourists. I have never been so stunned walking through the doorway of a building. The sheer scale.

In the end, those boys' looks of triumph and chagrin have become so entwined with my memories of the statue that I can't fully say if it's just the sculpture that's so memorable or the entire experience.
Those are two great memories to intertwine!

I love seeing cities through their art as well (and their food :-p but that can be an artform too, soo...^_-)

St. Peter's really is astounding! I really want to go back to Italy, it being my first, I had so little to compare it to. But for a first time, it was fantastic! ^__^
