A little help, O Wise and Knowledgeable Flist...

So here I am in jolly old England, settling in, classes just starting up (something I do plan to write about soon, I swear...) and in between the socializing, studying and exploring, I find myself watching quite a bit of TV. This is happening in part because I always watch more when I live alone (something to do when relaxing before bed or while ( Read more... )

I'm going to have to watch this post for ideas, cause I'm in about the same situation-- living alone, doing school-things, and needing more TV for entertainment. :)

Series wot I have enjoyed recently:

Invisible Man: AWESOME. It's about a thief named Darien who gets a gland implanted in his head that enables him to become invisible, and is forced to work for a secret Agency to solve crimes and stop terrorism and that kind of thing. It's got lovely teamy moments between Darien, his partner and his Keeper, and h/c in literally *every single episode*-- it's beautiful. And the entire thing is up on hulu/youtube.

The Chronicle: Cute little series about a reporter who can't get a job anywhere else, so he has to join a tabloid of the Bigfoot-Ate-My-Baby type-- only to find out that everything they write about is 100% real. I'm only on episode 4, so I'll let this ship manifesto speak to why it's so awesome. (Downloads here, tho you have to join the comm to see them.)

Warehouse 13: Brand new SciFi Channel SyFy series, kind of dorky and ( ... )

Oh, yeah, I-man was a favorite of ours when it was on, I ficced for it and everything. Darien/Hobbes/Keeper OT3 FTW!

Oh, awesome, I hadn't realized you'd ficced for it-- is it on your website?

And yes, yay OT3!! They're all so freaking adorable together, I just wanna hug 'em and squish 'em and--

*ahem*. Sorry, got a little carried away there. But yeah, I really wish I'd known about it when it was first out; there's barely any fandom left. Kinda sad.

It is on my site, though like I said, we were into the show when it was airing, so the fic is oooo~ld. It was a fun fandom, though, small but lively. I spent a lot of time on the SF Channel BBSs, where the Eberts actor was a regular ^^

Yeah, I think when you're living alone, it just makes for more watching, even when life's quite busy...

Mmm, as my sister just said, I-man was a favorite. And yeah, the h/c came in high quantities with that show! ^_^ We just rewatched the whole thing a year or two ago, think I loved it even more on second viewing...

Hmmm, will have to check out the others, they sound fun! How long was Middleman on for before they canceled it?

Thanks so much for the recs, *huggles*

I think I may be forced to rewatch I-Man within a few months or so-- I mainlined whole thing within the space of five days, and there are plot bunnies niggling at the back of my brain that would require a second viewing....

Middleman was on for a grand total of 12 episodes. :( The 13th, final ep never got produced, but it was made into a comic, plus the actors also did a table-reading of the script at Comic Con this past July-- the video is up on youtube. Really, if you only pick one series to watch from those four, choose that one-- if you *don't* fall in love with it, I'll eat my hat.
