[When the audio clicks on, Hanna is a bit fidgety. He’s got the communicator on his lap-there’s the ambient sound of a fire crackling merrily in the background, and of paper being folded really quickly somewhat closer to the communicator.Okay, so, hi! It's not any wish. It's a wish for health. The crane is a symbol of immortality.

[The woman's voice is slightly Japanese accented, so maybe she's in a position to know?]

It's also just a myth.

[Basically nothing could have roused her from her human-and-hating-it stupor but this. Good job, Hanna.]

Yeah, but it's my experience that most of those myths? Totally, completely true.

[His grin is evident in his voice.]

Not where I'm from.

[Pause.]

Why are you folding cranes?

[There's a half-second pause as Hanna decides on whether or not to tell her the truth.]

I'm just a little homesick, is all. Kind of want my friend to show up? But I don't at the same time, I don't think he'd like it here.

[He'll see that pause and raise you one.]

Well, not that he'd be too bothered by it. It's just a selfish little thought is all.

It won't have any affect on whether he shows up or not.

[She sounds distant, flat. Which is how she always sounds, but Hanna has no way to know that.]

It might not, but it gives me something to hold onto.

[He chuckles a bit. He's used to people raining on his parade.]

They meant something to him, anyway, so. It kind of brings him here, without bringing him here, you know?

Why was your friend interested in origami?

["Origami" comes out with the Japanese pronunciation, the vowels different from English, and the stress on the syllables more evenly distributed.]

Um, good question. Weeeee don't really know? He's got amnesia. But for some reason-- hmm.

Long story short, I sent a sort of a tracking spell to help him out this one time and it takes the form of something important to you, right? So yeah. His took the form of a paper crane. Sooooo, they're important. Somehow.

...Interesting.

[No, really! She actually means it!

Hard to tell from her delivery, though.]

Yeaaah, it's really weird.

[He's not going to mention how Imhotep is totally a zombie, though, and that the amnesia is probably from being dead for ten years.]

So, what I decided back home was that I was going to help him out by making a whole bunch. Technically it's a wish for his health, so it'll work, right? Wishing for your memory back? 'Cause brain health-- I.E., lack of amnesia-- is totally health, so it totally counts, right? [He laughs, a bit self-conciously.] Even if you think it's just a myth.
