Value of Competitions

Some may feel that this PM cup is just another competition, but its not. We can lose all other races but not this one. You will still be seen as the overall winner by just winning this cup, thats why its called the Prime Ministers Cup (ppl even place bets on it).

The school has brought its supporters. Reason, the schools Pride, Honour and Glory lie within this cup. The training for this cup starts the very next day the competition ends. The whole years build up training just for this one day, all the blood n sweat, timely sacrifices for land and water trainings. The reason you are in the boat is because our brothers have placed their Faith-Believe-Trust in you to bring home the cup for the third time and create history for its a first in Singapore that it has been done.

We will continue to have flashbacks of this race, or just by looking at the medal (every medal tells a different story, be it gold silver or bronze). But may the flashbacks fuel our courage, rage and bloodlust, to stand up again and fight. Like in the Lord of the Rings and 300, do it for our brothers, our school, for ourselves.

So this PM cup is not just any competition held at Bedok Reservoir, or one that some people take part in and feel that its ok we can come back again next year when we fail. The 22 individuals rowing as one heart in one boat, your band of brothers and the whole school supporting your back, giving you the encouragement you need to fight this WAR, defending your home ground, your title as a champion. The intensity and value of such a competition is just too different.
