Note to self: Do not jump into bed in the dark.

I thought I was right next to the bed, last night, so I jumped onto it. >.< But I ended up landing... on the corner of the bed, with most of my weight on my knee. A very dumb, painful thing, that. >.O It's kinda puffy now. I think it's going to bruise pretty badly ( Read more... )

I spent four hours the other day commenting on three stories. I think most people spend five minutes on their comments, honestly. But for me it's really useful. I notice things that /I do/ that don't work in the process.

I don't know. I think that the reason I managed a B off written comments alone is because I analyze the stories as a writer, rather than a reader. It seems to be something I've noticed with the class: they size the stories up in an English class sorta way, rather than focusing on mechanical details like whether or not a scene is necessary, how the writer uses POV, whether or not the dialogue is natural, whether the story keeps the promise made in the first scene of the story, etc.

I have a feeling the people who get my comments are going to hate me, though. >.>' Just like I hate people who give me honest feedback, at least until I get over it and apply the criticisms anyway.

Though my teacher made a pretty stupid comment on my story. I mentioned spiders having eight eyes in my scene and he wrote 'Spiders have eight eyes?' Uh, yeah. Most of them do. Did he not know that?
