I have been defeated by toast.

So... I spent ten minutes waiting for my toast to pop up and then I realized I hadn't plugged in the toaster. I plugged in what I figured was the right cord, waited another ten minutes, and then realized it wasn't the right one. Then I finally plugged in the right one and burnt my toast to a crisp.

Toast hates me. =(

So Adam told me last night that he hates his program and he really doesn't want to do it anymore, but he didn't want to tell me because he was afraid how I'd react. The thing he likes to do is design things, like buildings, but the reality of it isn't as fun as he thought it would be. He hates the whole idea of working with construction workers because from what his instructors tell him the environment is poisonous and everyone just wants to screw everyone else. He said he felt trapped, depressed, like he couldn't start over because everyone was expecting so much of him.

I suggested he look into game design, 3D images, that kind of thing. The stuff he seems to want to do is create 3D objects and buildings and things like that, but without worrying about the million tiny details actual buildings have to have. He wants to work as a part of a team, working together for a goal. I think he would like it and I know there are schools for that kind of thing. I don't know how we'd manage financially with both of us in school, but I don't want him to be miserable the rest of his life because of me.
