HP Art: Onion Soup at the Burrow

Oct 07, 2005 01:34

I just discovered ArtRage a couple days ago, and I swear it's the best thing since sliced bread. And so, I um, painted some sliced bread. Pencil and paper, ArtRage, Photoshop. 577x700px, 110k.

ArtRage has brush strokes. And sound effects. It's crazyfun. I'm done for.

"She tapped the pot again; it rose into the air, flew toward Harry, and tipped over; Mrs. Weasley slid a bowl neatly beneath it just in time to catch the stream of thick, steaming onion soup....She waved her wand over her shoulder; a loaf of bread and a knife soared gracefully onto the table; as the loaf sliced itself and the soup pot dropped back onto the stove, Mrs. Weasley sat down opposite him."

- Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Chapter Five

Only just now, as I'm posting, do I realize that this can't be the midnight snack of canon, as it is completely un-dark outside. Doh. Also realizing that JKR uses a whole lot of semicolons.

Since I read this scene, I've been wanting to make this meal. Sounds so warm and comforting and yummy. It would, however, require me to rescue my starter from the back of the frig where it's been starving for the past month or three... So there's that...
