You ever have something that you think is so awesome, you pretty much scare people off when trying to explain it to them? That pretty much sums up what happens when i try to tell people about Primerica.
Nobody thinks a "job" is something you can get really excited about. However, i think thats what seperates Primerica from most all of Americas job offerings today (or as we in the office would say "J"-"O"-"B"s) - it is sincerely focused on you "winning" in life (finanically, emotionally, and even spiritually) as well as genuinely helping other people. Primerica exist as a team of positive and sincerely motivated people who are working to better their lives as well as better the lives of people around them. Walking into the office on thursdays and saturdays feels, to me, somewhat like walking into church. Instead of the sulking into work to endure another barrage of labor hours till said work is complete, we exists as a comradary of VERY inspired, vision driven crusaders who are excited about what we do. The atmosphere is best described as electric... from the comical excitement exhuberated from the seasoned leaders to the constant chatting and blaring Rocky music thats always playing before class starts.
Primerica represents, to me, hope. Hope that I dont have to live a crummy selfish life. How do i know it will be selfish? Simple: because with just about every other job i'll spend my whole life trapped, trying to provide for MYSELF alone. Aside from the whole free FNA thing, the fact that i will be financially independant (completely able to live for the rest of my life without earning another dime) allows for me to instead focus on giving to other people- which i definately plan on doing. A couple days ago a 60 year old man (from somewhere in Dallas) named Bill Orender came to our office. Bill Orender is a multi-million dollar earner at Primerica and just like last week and every week before that he has spoken.. Bill is insanely passionate about what a great opportunity Primerica is and he sincerely loves to tell people about it. The most stressful work Bill has to do is consider which charities to give to! Bill said to our class "Until you are financially independant, you will never be able to think about anyone but yourself". How true. All these jazzed up people at Primerica arent just deluded day-dreamers. The fact is, Primerica (which most people haven't even heard of) produces more millionaires and more 6 figure income earners than any other business in the world.. more men, more women, and more young people- thats exciting, its real! I've personally spoken to one other millionaire and many other 6 figure income earners.. and, sure enough, most all of them are devout christians and heavy givers. In our office of about about 30 people (four owning the office, but about 30 regular attenders) God and our faith is brought up just about every class, scripture is frequently quoted and peoples faith is often included in their testimony for what Primerica allows them to do for others. We've got a reason to be pumped.
Last night we went to Josh Huffmans house (very large) for a fun "quarterly recognition" - Josh is a 600,000 dollar earner (a year) from our 30-people office and about 150 people came to his party last night where winners of the contests and highest producers got recognized and got plaques etc. I wish i would have brought more friends than i did, but its so cool to see all these Primericans (even a 21 year old) talk about how much money they are making and what they were able to do for people as well as get recognized the way that they did. It's seriously fun.. everyone is a blast to be around and none looks worn out- they are all playful and just really outgoing.
Anyways, i hope this explains why i keep talking about it so much. I suspect im starting to annoy some people - a few probably think im just making it up and others probably assume im just exaggerating in an attempt to recruit them for selfish reasons. None of those are the case, its just that i sincerely think this an awesome opportunity that i would like to share with everyone.
