Well, Thirst wasn't very good. Like, at all.
I liked the directing, the characters were quirky and the camera work was fun to watch, as it was just as playful as it was in I'm a Cyborg, but Mr. Park didn't come through on the writing. It was good by many standards, but after his past four full-length movies, Thirst felt like he was calling it in. I hope his next film is better.
The ending was the most disappointing part. Mr. Park oft provides an ending both unexpected and poignant, but Thirst was neither. It was predictable, with none of the catharsis of the Revenge trilogy, nor the whimsy of Cyborg.
Right.
Well.
My writing should start appearing within a couple of hours.
In a related note to my writing, I must comment that the gift of Wikipedia is a terrible curse. I looked up bodkin metal arrowheads and am now reading about how eggs are a natural adhesive and how Vietnam War draft-dodgers would urinate into a cup with a but of egg white to throw off their piss test, keeping them out of serving.
WHOA.
More in a couple of hours.
