It's a False Alarm

Some time ago, when I was considering posting to this site, I was thinking of introducing the belief that I may have synesthesia.

For various reasons, I did not. I thought that few people would be interested in hearing me talk about tasting music and hearing coffee (which I do!). Long story short, various experiences musically, visually, and... smellly... all coalesced into one, big mash in my brain.

Anyway, I was browsing the Something Awful forums a day or two later and I came upon a reference that hinted that it's a fairly big fad for people to proclaim that they have synesthesia.

Boy, did I feel like a fool!

I speak about this, as it deals with thought-processes, and how we think.

On a purely abstract level, I am about to describe my thought patterns to you all.

If any of you would like to share how you think, I think it would be fascinating.

I have six slots in my brain, each of which is a sort of sphere. They are in a 3x2 grid, with the rows being three, left to right.

The numbers would look thus:

1 2 3
4 5 6

The "5" slot is where my head is, and the five, other slots orbit my head, retaining that inverted "U" shape.

The roles of each of the slots are as follows.

1: Memories.
2: Music.
3: More memories. Generally related to "shit I gotta get done".
4: TV show/movie/Let's Play/video game/book.
5: My main focus, what I'm concentrating on.
6: More things like "4".

All six of the slots are running at the same time, continuously. If I need to concentrate, I'm swimming, or I'm reading, the others drop away, but they are almost always running, all of them.

This post may seem silly, but I think that odd things like this are what really help define us and they are invariably unique to everyone.

I would love to hear anyone else's thoughts on... thoughts.

If I need to clarify on how the grid works, I will do so happily.
