The Knight Legacy: Chapter Four

Apr 25, 2015 13:00

Welcome back, dear readers! I'm still trying to decide when these updates should go up. I'd like to reserve Sundays for the Squares, but it is possible that the Knights may someday join them.

For now, let's just get down to it, shall we?

As part of Lenny's childhood aspiration, he had to meet several new people.

One such person was the very adorable Olivia Spencer-Kim-Lewis, who, uh... well she and he quickly became friends, and alas she was the only one outside of the family that Lenny really got along with. Lenny wasn't a shy kid, but he wasn't super enthused about making friends, either.

His mother, meanwhile, was very happy with where her life was going. Sure, she was on baby #2--and with one of her more casual flings, no less--and she still wasn't making that much money and she still lived in a shack and yadda yadda yadda. But her son was relatively healthy and happy, as was she, and honestly that was a pretty good place to be when you were living in a box on an empty lot.

She was also super pumped that she could go to work while she was pregnant, and didn't have to take an inexplicable leave of six or seven months.

Unfortunately, juggling being a mom and being a careerwoman kind of wore her out. She would often come home and take a snooze in the uncomfortable blue chair that she for some reason kept, even though it was uncomfortable and didn't go with the rest of the furniture.

Lenny took it all in stride. He had no trouble keeping his grades up. He knew that he had to, to show his mom that in spite of her limited time with him, he could do well on his own.

Of course, when you had a single mom and you lived in a shack and had a new sibling on the way... it paid to become as independent as you could as early as possible.

They were not without support, however. J visited rather often, sometimes to talk, other times to do his killer robot impression. Seriously, what is up with you and robots, J? It's just not healthy.

Make no mistake, however. J and Celeste were completely platonic... with uh... lingering feelings... it was awkward, you know. Very complicated. They were SOMETHING, all right???

A few days later, Celeste was just about to head back into the shack for a nap when she went into labor!

It really wasn't that exciting, honestly. Labor in TS4 never really is :-/ although it is far more productive than TS3's, so there's that.

She hopped (er, as best she could) back into the house and popped out a bouncing baby boy, whom she named Richmond, her favorite character from The IT Crowd.

"Oh, Johnny," Celeste cooed, turning to him. "Isn't he beautiful?"

To be entirely honest, Johnny had no opinion of the baby himself; but he was happy that Celeste was happy. Also, his sticking around while she was in labor really cemented things for Celeste. She knew that Johnny was the guy for her, since he'd been there for the birth of one of her children and all.

"You know, Johnny," Celeste said. "You're a pretty swell guy. Wanna be my boyfriend?"

Of course Johnny agreed. This was probably going to be his only opportunity to deepen his relationship with Celeste, and damned if he wasn't going to take it.

And so, gmwrites Celeste, not wanting to break her new boyfriend's heart, changed her aspiration from Serial Romantic to Soulmate. And Johnny was hers.

oh lord just gag me with a spoon ew

Don didn't really get the message, but that was okay. Celeste was still willing to be friendly with him, but not THAT kind of friendly. She had boundaries, now. It was kind of weird having boundaries at all, but she knew she could keep them up if she stuck with Johnny.

Richmond, perhaps because he was Don's get, cried and carried on like a little hellion. He would never shut up, especially when he was being taken care of. As such, he was deemed the Most Annoying Member of the Household by the rest of the family. I blame Don.

Lenny, for his part, had trouble adjusting to the new baby and the new boyfriend. He liked that his mom was happy and that there was at least some kind of father figure in his life, but come on. There was only so much change a little boy could go through at once!

He tended to take his frustrations out on Johnny, who in turn took his frustrations out on Lenny. Not that anything too horrible happened between the two of them; they just picked on each other relentlessly.

That was okay, though. There was always his mom's tablet to turn to for meaningful life experiences! I mean dads are cool and all but can they run EA Sports? I don't think so*.

The days flew by and Richmond grew into an adorable little boy and a music lover.

He was also very sweet, and loved his mother very much.

Yep, life continued being pretty great for Celeste. It was free of actual conflict, and perfectly normal.

They're really not this boring readers, I swear!

* I'm a little biased but I think dads are great. Much better than tablets!

Sorry for the short update; at least things happened in it, right?

Happy simming <3!
