I have just learned my mentor, the person most responsible for who I am today, has died.
LTC Craig S. Harju, USA(Ret.) was a cavalry man, a scholar, and, in this man's opinion, a philosopher. Most of you reading this have no idea what I was like in my early years. You have no memories of the angry, rage-filled child I was, who so easily flew off the handle with fists blazing. I was like that until High School, like that until I met Colonel Harju. He gave me discipline, direction, advice, support... all the things I lacked. This is a small tribute, I want to say more, but the words won't come. I hope it gives you, however, a feel for the greatness of this man.
Hoo-ah, Colonel. You will be dearly missed.
