Okay, I spent too much money today. I took 31,000 with me and came back with about 6,000. The thing is, I went with two ALTs to Costco, and finally took the plunge in buying a microwave/oven combo as I've been planning to for months. While I keep looking at nicer models and hesitating because of my weird 20,000+ block . . . the result was that I still have neither microwave nor oven capabilities. So I bought a 12,000 little one at Costco. Amusingly, so did one of the other ALTs (she cooks a lot, too). So we took two identical "oben renji" up to the register . . .

I also bought miscellaneous stuff, and through the magic of Costco, while none of it was particularly expensive or frivolous stuff . . . it cost a lot put all together. We also ate very large slices of very North American-style pepperoni pizza *mmmm* before shopping, and had ice cream after shopping, which made me so full I was darn close to ill x_x. Oops. However, we walked down to a park where we could see the ocean, and even took off our shoes to walk in the water a bit, which was very nice. After that, we walked down to Carrefour, this big French supermarket, and did more shopping. I also bought some pet stuff for the dog that stayed with my parents for a while, because even though he's gone home, this is the land of outlandishly cute doggie clothes.

So that's where all my money went. A certain amount of my time, too. All in all, though, it was a hot day, we shopped, we ate pizza, and we played in the ocean. That's gotta qualify as a better than average day.

I really, really don't want to go back to four classes with three different lesson plans, especially since one of those plans hasn't even been made yet! x_x (I ran out of time on Thursday, and had no mental capacity on Friday). I only have one open class space in the morning in which to attempt to throw something together for that class. I really wish I were at a school where I could be more of a human tape recorder :p. Maa, just because I have no energy or enthusiasm lately. Normally I prefer stuff to do!
